Position Summary:

  • Develop, coordinate and implement business strategies through a sales team to achieve revenue targets (AOP) for Laboratory Products through direct and indirect sales channels in Biotech-Pharma market segment in France and in all market segment in Benelux.
  • Direct management of 9 Outside Account Managers, reporting into Sales Director Southwest
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, developing, motivating and coaching the sales team
  • Build strong collaborative relationship with LP market Segment Managers and other Unit Leaders.
  • Support cross divisional collaboration with other commercial leaders and teams to maximize Thermo Fisher's value proposition to the customer.
  • Consistently monitors results of sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking using CRM systems and dashboards.
  • Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Thermo Fisher Scientific policies and applicable laws.

  • Produce & deliver Annual Sales Plan in line with AOP (Annual Operating Plan) and Goal Tree
  • Monitor territory and product mix performance and implement corrective / growth measures where necessary.
  • Manage price / performance matrix to optimize & capture price where possible.
  • Participate and support the monthly / quarterly reporting and forecasting process.

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Progressive commercial business experience in the region
  • Experience and industry knowledge in Laboratory Equipment / Consumables
  • Strong leadership track record, to include managing within a matrix environment with the ability to inspire and lead others
  • Strong coaching and developing skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to the customer
  • Ability to build and maintain processes and procedures
  • Ability to have high level entrepreneurial and inspiring communications with R&D leaders and CEO's of biotech companies
  • Familiarity with commercial sales and marketing tools to capture and understand the market
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Ability to generate and maintain information to provide feedback on performance

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in English oral and written communication and presentation skills; additional European languages skills a plus
  • Ability to plan & prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Self-motivated in driving business results
  • Spend c. 50-60% of time travelling in the region
