The Opportunity 

We are looking for an accomplished Assistant Vice President to join our Liquidations team as part of our financial services business in Grand Cayman. 

  

The Cayman Islands is home to our global headquarters and where the Maples Group first established operations in the 1960s. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest employers in Cayman, where colleagues from all over the world collaborate to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide. As part of our Cayman team you will: 

  

  • administer a high volume of liquidations under a corporate liquidator, reviewing transaction documents and financial records, attending meetings and preparation of the liquidation documentation;
  • coordinate the client acceptance process and delivering high levels of client service while ensuring that each client relationship is compliant with legal and regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures;
  • involved in ad hoc projects and coaching junior and administrative team members.

  

What You Bring 

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following: 

  

  • A University graduate with an excellent academic background. An internationally recognized, accounting or legal professional designation would be preferred;
  • At least 5 years’ financial services experience or 5 years’ equivalent experience as a qualified accountant. 
  • Experience in voluntary liquidations and knowledge of the Cayman Islands liquidation process will be regarded highly;
  • Experience in liaising with onshore and offshore law firms, the Registrar of Companies and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority is preferable;
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, relevant local laws and regulatory requirements;
  • Able to work independently, have excellent communication skills, superior attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Overtime on short notice will be required.
