The Opportunity 

We are looking for an accomplished Assistant Vice President to join our Funds Fiduciary team as part of our financial services business in Grand Cayman. 

  

The Cayman Islands is home to our global headquarters and where the Maples Group first established operations in the 1960s. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest employers in Cayman, where colleagues from all over the world collaborate to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide. As part of our Cayman team you will: 

  

  • Assist with new business pitch calls and process new business enquiries, analysing proposed structures, reviewing transaction documents and providing comments to parties as appropriate and coordinating our client acceptance processes;
  • Establish relationships and act as key liaison with lawyers, investment managers, fund administrators, prime brokers and other transaction parties located in international jurisdictions.
  • Manage the financial statement review process of assigned CSPs including reviewing, analyzing and providing comments on the financial statements, management representation letter, engagement letter and all other required documentation;
  • Assist assigned CSPs with achieving quarterly key performance indicator targets
  • Be the assigned administrator for a portfolio of share trustee, trustee and a limited number of independent director mandates;
  • Attend conference calls and board meetings as required;
  • Ensure all databases are completed and maintained with accurate information in relation to assigned portfolio of clients and all new business for CSPs as assigned.
  • Ensure invoices are raised and disseminated to clients in a timely manner and in accordance with the administration agreements for assigned portfolio of client mandates, and in assisting CSPs as assigned with invoices in respect of new business mandates.

  

  

What You Bring 

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following: 

  

  • the successful candidate will be a university graduate with an excellent academic background;
  • will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial services industry;
  • candidates must have an understanding of investment funds, both corporate and unit trusts and related securities;
  • experience in reviewing and analyzing transaction documents and financial statements for investment funds;
  • knowledge of corporate governance and regulatory requirements;
  • ability to demonstrate strong project management and organizational skills;
  • strong analytical skills and attention to details, accuracy and efficiency;
  • the ability to use initiative, be self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision, and work well under pressure to complete high volumes of work under tight deadlines;
  • will be expected to demonstrate strong drafting, communication and presentation skills.
