The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Marketing and Sales Representative to join the Spectrolab Subsidiary located in Sylmar, CA.

Supports the capture-team-lead positions in both our PV (Solar Cell, Solar Panel) and ILS (Searchlight) businesses. Position engages with customers and helps craft engagement and sales plans with key stakeholders. Some travel is likely to support business in customer meetings and industry events such as conferences and trade shows.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Supports the approval process by contributing to the development of documentation and data to obtain necessary management approvals.
  • Supports preparation for negotiations by assessing detailed customer knowledge, competitive analysis and product information.
  • Consolidates information in necessary documents to clarify understanding of the business opportunities and arrangements for internal negotiation team.
  • Supports sales and campaign activities by contributing to the development of strategies and tactics with guidance.
  • Leverages company resources to support customer commitments, gain a competitive advantage and foster business growth by developing a general understanding of Boeing products and services, process and operations and resources.
  • Supports business capture by performing key sales order entries into booking system
  • Researches, reviews and analyzes information about competitors' products and services to develop a general understanding of competitor activities and improve our competitive position.
  • Captures and documents general information related to customer business, culture, issues and concerns, requirements, and economic and environmental influences by researching available resources, web-sites and publications.
  • Assists in the interface with the customer and internal Boeing resources to keep both apprised of key issues and concerns.
  • Assists in the development of customer solutions by performing analysis of customer needs and available resources for specific products and solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Evaluates alternatives and makes recommendations to the internal team.
  • Assists in the preparation of management review materials.
  • Assists in the preparation of internal presentations and supporting material.
  • Supports preparation of proposals by contributing to the development of statement of work, cost estimates and pricing to ensure customer requirements are addressed.
  • Ensures proposal compliance at a detailed level. Gathers and compiles strategic information into a consolidated package to facilitate the development of strategy and tactics with guidance.
  • Supports creation of presentation materials and management review packages.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience with sales and marketing within the aerospace and/or defense industries

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with providing high-level sales and marketing presentations to aerospace executives or customers as well as detailed technical presentations to managers
  • Experience working with multiple concurrent sales campaigns
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams towards a common goal of providing tailored products and services to customers
  • Requires some travel domestically

Typical Education & Experience:

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
