Role Responsibilities
Our Ambassadors are the face of the brand to key influencers and interested consumers. They are our storytellers, guardians, and educators about what makes our brands so special. As a House of Suntory Brand Ambassador and Highball Specialist, you'll develop the local advocacy strategy and bring the magic of Suntory brands and Distilleries to life. Serve as a critical in-market liaison to facilitate communication, planning, and execution between the Global Brand House and the North America market. Establish & leverage a network influenced by the Global Brand House Team, Ambassadors & Brand Influencers to maximize our market performance.
In addition, this role will lead Suntory Global Sprits unique Drink Solution technology programs to accelerate the quality at the point of consumption and business of TOKI's Hero Serve highball and HOS cocktail, as well as awareness, education and trial of highballs and cocktails, Highly engaging Spirits Marketing Expert to lead national and regional activation/execution to drive velocity.
In this role, the House of Suntory Brand Ambassador & Highball Specialist will apply their knowledge and experience in the spirits category to grow trade relationships, create consumer demand, and manage ongoing events. The Highball Specialist has outstanding organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple programs while tracking progress throughout, and a drive to consistently exceed expectations.
70% in this role will cover the entire US market to lead the TOKI Highball and Drink Solutions technology programs, while 30% will cover Philadelphia and Oregon as brand ambassadors. In the future, 50% each.
Long Description
Role Responsibilities as House of Suntory Brand Ambassador & Highball Specialist
Promote drink solution technology programs centered on highball
• Serves as critical internal liaison between technology suppliers, our customers, local installers, the commercial sales organization, and the brand team.
• Detailed budget management and forecasting inventory with vendors.
• Maintains Salesforce system for Highball program with technology suppliers and communicates with the sales team on status updates.
• Collaborates with the local team to ensure highball menu programming represents brand standards, maximizing HoS NSV profitability.
• Inputs into RFPs with Strategic Accounts, managing existing and future Highball business.
• Supports the brand team in planning, executing, and evaluating Toki Highball Week.
• Manages on-site support for high-profile, large-scale HoS Highball technology events.
Public Relations: (PR)
• Be the face of the House of Suntory (HoS) brands, exhibiting expertise and detailed knowledge of the full portfolio and serving as an extension of the distilleries.
• Lead the development of the HoS advocacy strategy to deliver "end-to-end" programs that emotionally connect with the trade to make them advocates of our HoS portfolio.
Brand Education and Training:
• Develop, lead, and deliver the brand training and education strategy for the business in line with the brand and commercial objectives for both on- and off-premise channels.
• Deliver industry-leading educational seminars, engaging consumers, trade, distributors, internal, and media.
Innovation & Advocacy
• Leading brand innovation launches through product introduction and education in focus cities, collaborating with brand and sales teams to achieve distribution and sell-through.
• Act as the conduit between the Global brand house, the local, and the global advocacy team.
Key Accounts (HALO accounts)
• Lead generation for desirable accounts, working with our Sales team to commercialize any opportunity.
• Strategic Sell-In and Execution of consumer events with brand-building efforts, in the local market, to drive strong consumer connections and consumption.
Insights & Consumer Behaviors
• Deliver market-relevant insights to the brand, advocacy, distillery, and sales teams to help further drive the portfolio growth strategy.
• Collecting market feedback from consumers & Key account partners in market activations.
• Regularly conduct trade and retail market visits and connect with our vibrant hospitality community.
Qualifications
Industry Professional individual with at least 5 years' experience in related field with a strong hospitality and/or sales background, 3+ years of experience within the alcohol industry preferred
• Genuine passion for Japan with extensive spirit knowledge
• Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft applications and social media: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to adopt new tech as required
• Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, across various stakeholder levels
• Experience in budget management
• Time management and analytical capabilities
• A nuanced understanding of the hospitality industry in focus markets
• Possess strong public speaking and presentation skills
• Travel up to ~30%
• Candidate must have a current US driver's license and have their mode of transportation
• This role may require some evening and weekend work as required
• Holds a relevant passport and can travel internationally (in particular Japan) when required by Brand House to attend brand summits or events.
