We’re looking for a Head of Digital Media to join Snap’s Marketing team. You will lead Marketing’s paid digital media efforts across various campaigns and initiatives to drive adoption and engagement with our platform and products globally. Reporting to the Head of Media, you will manage a team of digital media buyers and experts who work closely with our Marketing team, key stakeholders, and third-party partners.

What you’ll do:

Media Strategy, Planning, and Execution

  • Manage a team that creates full-funnel digital media strategies to drive demand and conversion for a wide variety of initiatives and audiences that span Snap's needs around the globe. 

  • Oversee paid media planning and execution on media platforms, such as Snapchat, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, programmatic, and SEM.  

  • Establish, develop, and manage relationships with media platforms and properties where there may be benefits to an ongoing or long-term partnership. 

  • Define and report on KPIs and business-related measures of success. Identify and help build the internal capabilities needed (working with product, engineering, and data science teams) to determine the success of marketing and media initiatives.

  • Communicate the media strategies, plans, and results with clarity, simplicity, and brevity to all relevant members of the cross-functional marketing team, including leadership/executives.

Marketing Integration

  • Create a constructive feedback loop between the marketing, media, social, CRM, and analytics teams. Integrate learnings, best practices, and trends in media performance across the different Snap Marketing teams into your planning. Deliver concrete, business-based metrics to product teams and key stakeholders, such as ROI, product shares, and incremental shares.

  • Work with the Legal, Privacy, Engineering, Sales, and Growth teams to establish, define, and evolve Snap’s relationship with key partners, including value exchange, term/definition, data-sharing agreements, and benefits.

  • Within Marketing, collaborate with Insights, Project Management, Production, and Operations to define the best ways of working on digital media campaigns, establish productive relationships with agency partners (e.g., creative, web, design), and ensure that campaigns executed flawlessly.

Digital Leadership

  • Define and test the benefits of various media targeting (e.g., audience, context, time of day), and lead the advancement of targeting capabilities, including first-party data.  Ensure that the Marketing team understands the implications of the latest developments in privacy laws in critical global markets. 

  • Establish and uphold creative best practices by platform, KPI, and audience.  Create benchmarks for media performance, transparency, and efficiency, as well as guidelines for execution

  • Bring forward emerging opportunities, technologies, and platforms to enhance the business impact of our media recommendations and activations.


 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Track record of creating and executing impactful digital media plans that delivered results and achieved business objectives. Need to have examples of when your unique or considered approach to media defined the success of a large campaign or business initiative.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and grow a team with diverse talents.

  • Ability to translate marketing goals into where/when we want to show up with digital media, including defining the audience, identifying platforms/placements opportunities for testing/leaning, and heavy optimization schedules/timelines. Need examples of success in a variety of digital media platforms and tactics

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of digital media planning and buying experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You work well with others and embody the Snap values of kind, smart, and creative

  • You have created strong partnerships with key stakeholders and executives in your previous roles

  • You have outstanding prioritization and delegation skills, the ability to successfully juggle multiple high-level projects, and you excel in a lean and fast paced work environment.
