Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is currently seeking a Payroll Assistant 4 to join our growing team of diverse professionals. This position will be located on site in Plymouth, MN. This position requires a highly motivated, self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Performing a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting/finance department
  • Ensures employees are properly set up in the timekeeping system (Kronos) for payroll purposes. Reviews and corrects employee information regarding proper general labor codes for new hires and promotions. Ensures demographics interface is working properly
  • Ensures that all employee time data reported into Kronos is complete prior to creating the payroll interface file. Reconciles data on the payroll file to the data in Kronos. Transmits the payroll file to corporate and verifies the complete file was received by noon every week. Meets special deadlines on accelerated holiday and year-end schedules
  • Ensures payroll validation information reconciles to what was transmitted on the file to payroll.
  • Creates and submits any changes needed in the payroll validation information.
  • Creates and submits manual adjustments to payroll
  • Coordinates off-cycle payroll requests
  • Enters payroll-related prior period corrections into Kronos and validates they are properly reflected in the next payroll file, including those that are not made through Kronos
  • Validates that employees are properly paid under unusual circumstances
Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or payroll experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree, preferably in business or technical related field.
  • Experience supporting senior level management/customers in a dynamic program environment
  • Ability to compile and generate reports and presentations
  • Ability to complete a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision
Salary Range: $55,700 - $92,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
