Contract Senior Human Resources Policy & Compliance Specialist

***This position is fully remote in either PST or MST timezones***

Model N is seeking a Sr. Policy & Compliance Specialist to work closely with the People Team and assist with managing policies, procedures and best practices in the human resources department. This role partners with HR colleagues on communication and information sharing and is responsible for compliance related initiatives focused on improving internal HR compliance policies and procedures, reviewing existing HR practices, and identifying compliance risks. This position also partners directly with HRBP team on Employee Relations matters. 


This role can be fully remote within the U.S. PST or MST timezones.  This is a temporary assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to support HR compliance within Model N.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational HR policies. 
  • Track HR-related compliance tasks and document completion.
  • Ensure business processes are aligned to continue driving HR compliance efforts while partnering closely with Legal and People Team to ensure consistency with respect to compliance practices. 
  • Guide effective implementation of HR polices and Employee Handbook. Ensure timely updates, proper documentation, tracking handbook modifications and distribution.
  • Ensure all annual reporting obligations are fulfilled including, but not limited to, EEO Reports, EAP Reports 
  • Consult with the legal department and advising leadership and management on compliance matters; recommend changes to existing policies and draft and/or develop new policies based on legislative and/or regulatory developments, provides guidance, notification and communication to associates and managers when necessary. 
  • Identify, investigate and report compliance issues, irregularities or violations. 
  • Partner with Learning & Development team to develop and provide employee training on compliance policies, practices, and reporting systems. 

Employee Relations:

  • Partner with HRBP team to carry out employee relations investigations, schedule discussions and document meeting notes. 
  • Respond to and resolve complex, sensitive and confidential employee issues in partnership with HRBP team.
  • Discreetly handle sensitive employee matters, reports or information. 
  • Work with internal Legal team to maintain agreements and templatizing ER documentation. 
  • Maintain employee relations documentation including but not limited to PIPs and ER case tracker.    

HR Project Management:

  • Support special HR projects as needed. 

HR Operations:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for HR for employment policies, procedures and labor law, providing input and guidance across functional HR teams. 
  • Conduct comprehensive, ongoing reviews of HR Operations that impact compliance and adherence to our employment policies.  
  • Ensure HR processes and procedures are created to achieve compliance and efficiency.
  • Identify and recommend methods to update, simplify and enhance processes, procedures. 
  • Conducts regular audits of internal HR documents and processes to ensure adherence to applicable laws and internal processes.  
  • Identify and implement continued operational excellence and service improvement initiatives. 
  • Develop understanding of end-to-end HR processes and be able to act as competent back -up for other team members. 

Knowledge/ Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of HR experience 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the full HR lifecycle, including HR program management and business process improvement. 
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software 
  • Possess understanding of HR processes and relevant technology. Minimum 1 year experience with Workday required. 
  • Prior experience in Employee Relations 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization/project management skills. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical ability. 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive HR issues
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment of change and manage multiple priorities concurrently through strong project management, systems knowledge, and effective communication. 

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • Advanced study in business, human resources or employment law highly desirable. 
  • aPHR, PHRor SPHR certifications highly desirable.

This position is a temporary position with an hourly rate range of $40-45 /hour.
