We're looking for a Senior Contracts Manager to join our Legal Supplier TEAM, reporting to the Director of Supplier Contracts.
Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $132,100 - $176,100
Zone B: $118,900 - $158,500
Zone C: $109,600 - $146,200

In this role, you will:
• Partner with our Procurement team to ensure legal related contract provisions, such as provisions concerning privacy, intellectual property, employment and compliance issues, are resolved in line with Atlassian standards, with an eye toward providing pragmatic and business-minded solutions
• Structure, draft and negotiate key inbound supplier contracts such as consulting, marketing, professional service, SaaS, and data processing agreements
• Partner with other Atlassian teams in Finance, Procurement, Risk and Compliance, Security and Legal to ensure contracts are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes
• Contribute to various contract process improvement projects, including the creation and updates of legal templates, playbooks, training sessions, and CLM processes
Experience with/knowledge of the following is a plus:
• GDPR compliance requirements, such as Data Transfer Impact Assessments
• CCPA/CPRA
• HIPAA and benefits/HR agreements
• AI compliance and contract terms
• Working within a contract lifecycle management system, slack, and/or zoom (Jira and Confluence is a plus+)
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
• Have at least 5+ years of experience drafting and negotiating supplier contracts, with an emphasis on technology and data privacy matters (supplier-side GDPR knowledge is a must)
• BA or BS (J.D. and/or CIPP-E certification is a plus, but not required)
• Passion and diligence to embrace our business model and Atlassian culture
• Ability to collaborate cross functionally and play as a TEAM
More About You:
• You have experience supporting an internal procurement department, or multiple internal buyers across varying departments, and can build strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders alike
• You have experience negotiating data processing terms from both the perspective of a data controller and data processor
• You have an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and can multitask
• You are familiar negotiating multiple contract templates including DPAs, without a playbook
• You have independent negotiation and prioritization skills
• You have an ability to identify, evaluate and provide risk-appropriate solutions to the business based on sound and practical legal and business judgment
