Job Description

Intel has announced a major expansion of Intel's production capacities in Europe and plans to develop two first-of-their-kind semiconductor fabs in Magdeburg, Germany, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt. A State Aid approval procedure for the project is currently pending with the European Commission. According to current planning production at the site is expected to start in four to five years following the European Commission's approval.

Government relations has never been more important to Intel's success and Global Government Affairs (GGA) is a pivotal group within Intel's Legal Trade and Government Team (LTG) focused on a range of urgent policy issues like favorable conditions for semiconductor manufacturing, resilient value chains, IP protection, and other business-critical priorities.

Join us a State Government Affairs Manager for Germany reporting to Germany's Director, Government Affairs and be responsible for developing and implementing strategic engagements with state and other local officials, business and regulatory agencies, and key business associations to advance and protect Intel's business interests and policy agenda. The main initial objective for the role is to enable Intel's greenfield investment in Magdeburg, to remove possible roadblocks and to support a political and business environment which is favorable for Intel.

This is a critical role on a fast-growing Government Affairs team to enhance Intel's reputation and ability to influence and promote a favorable business environment that enables growth and helps Intel win against the competition, and ultimately advance European semiconductor manufacturing and technology resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans and programs that comprehensively address current and future business and regulatory needs, challenges, and opportunities for the Saxony-Anhalt (SN) site.
  • Build, maintain and enhance the relationship with key decision makers with state and other local government and its functional agencies and facilitate Intel's executive leadership's engagement with them.
  • Monitor and track state legislation and activities within the state government that could impact Intel's SN operations.
  • Proactively research and keep Intel management abreast of any policy changes or activities that could present challenges and opportunities to Intel.
  • Support site operations and business development by connecting-the-dots and effectively mapping Intel's business objectives to external trends and addressing potential issues and influencing their outcome.
  • Represent Intel at state industry forums and events ensuring good communication and mutual understanding of SN site needs and objectives.
  • Be an expert in Intel's business environment and technologies to translate these to external audiences.
  • Handle confidential information frequently and appropriately.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in political science, economics, legal, public relations, or related field
  • 5+ years of work experience in:

- State government organization and legislative processes.

- Project management and stakeholder management.

- Business environment and technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous semiconductor industry experience
  • Experience representing a large manufacturer or tech company.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
