Job Description Summary
The Technical Leader (or TL) leads projects and initiatives in the development, qualification and manufacturability of complex and critical cored SX (single crystal) and DS (directional solidification) components for Gas Power Supply Chain. The Technical Leader will be responsible and accountable throughout the entire manufacturing process for dimensional and metallurgical adherence to specifications of New Part Introduction Programs (or NPI) up to the release to production.
The TL must:
- Act as an engineering expert on the products that are being launched.

The Technical Leader will work onsite at our Investment Casting Foundry in Schenectady Cores and Castings where you will get to work with innovative technologies.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Function as both an individual contributor (or NPI Part Owner) and provide technical leadership for a team of engineers for all product design aspects of the assigned NPI programs.
- Review product specifications and work cross-department on ensuring a quality product that meets requirements.
- Responsible operationally of NPI Product Engineers: Daily tracking of key milestones and tasks. Organize and prioritize NPI Product Engineers tasks to meet milestones.
- Accountable for NPI Product Engineers ensuring that targeted yield and production output are met before release for production AND as scheduled.
- Statistically and comprehensively analyze product defects and implement countermeasures to improve yield.
- Communicate product status and issues to all levels of the organization.
- Supervise, direct and manage the activities regarding product tool/part designs.
- Responsible for the definition and implementation of control plan, FMEA.
- Own dimensional qualification packages to meet customer requirements as well as major quality documents: MPP, PQP for all NPI launched.
- Provide technical inputs to Design Engineering on producibility of designs and advise for potential design alternatives or criteria alleviations to designs with producibility issues.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of cost and product improvements and drives problem solving activities to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Responsible for creating an environment of engagement and fostering development of the NPI product engineering team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, Chemistry or technical field/related area.
- Minimum of 10 years in manufacturing operations/production with demonstrated ability to focus on problem solving.
- Fluency with CAD software, preferably with Siemens NX.
- 3 years of Experience in new part introduction and/or product start ups.
Eligibility Requirements
- This position is 100% onsite at the GE Schenectady plant and 1st shift.
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay Transparency
The base pay range for this position is $131,700.00 - $165,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 15 % variable incentive compensation.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
