The Lead Tender and Project Specialist is responsible for executing all tender Sourcing related activities for Clean Combustion equipment/material product line scope, covering all Commodities, spare parts, internal and external supply, cost of Sourcing (e.g. man-hours), Sourcing related contingencies and risk provisions, transport & logistics support if required/applicable. This position is expected to collaborate cross-functionally with the proposal team (Proposal Manager, Sales, Engineering, etc.) and with internal stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, is essential. This role will be responsible for Key Performance Indicators that drive and define Sourcing success and must have the necessary skillset to positively impact these metrics. The Lead Tender and Project Sourcing Specialist must be able to define and report strategies for various commodities and Suppliers while having a Lean mindset with a focus on process improvement. This role will be responsible for new supplier onboarding and qualification and will contribute to sourcing savings goals and financial targets.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop high solidity, Supplier competitive Tender Sourcing Plans for each tender within the guidelines of the customer and GE Vernova requirements. Determinations in Supplier selection will include technical guidance from Engineering, weighing market risks and impacts, and best cost country source of supply.
  • Work proactively with the Tendering team to recommend the right suppliers with the most optimal commercial conditions, meet the proposal's delivery requirement to the customer and manage cost-out negotiations as per customers' target.
  • Act as an interface between Sourcing and Sales/Tendering on the pre-acquisition stage as first point of contact for Sales and Tendering for Go/No-Go and Bid/No-Bid stage.
  • Supervise that a smooth handover of Procurement & Logistics related scope is ensured between Tender team and Project Execution team (Project Manager, Buyer, Project Engineer, etc.)
  • Drive sourcing activities on assigned commodities and suppliers to deliver a competitive advantage within the Americas market. Apply advanced sourcing best practices towards operational excellence.
  • Manage supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and contractual terms and implement framework agreements with key suppliers, using contract templates in collaboration with Corporate Counsel.
  • Improve key performance metrics for the Americas region such as on-time delivery, savings, year-over-year deflation, payment terms, cost of failure and product cost-out during the tendering phase.
  • Coordinate supplier selection, development, and supplier categorization to ensure sourcing optimization, overall supplier performance and build long-term strategic relationships with key suppliers.
  • Develop reports, analyze spend and apply sourcing methodologies to identify opportunities for cost-reduction and cash flows improvements.
  • Contribute meaningfully to a positive team-oriented culture that promotes Inclusion along with a respectful work atmosphere.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University in Supply Chain Management or related discipline
  • 5+ Years experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier management and tendering.
  • 5+ Years of experience with M/S office skills including excel formulas, v-look up and pivot table knowledge.
  • Fluent in English

Desired Qualifications

  • Experienced in SAP and Tableau
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to develop key internal and external relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Ability to develop/execute strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Motivated, self-directed, and detail oriented.

The location for this position is flexible within the United States, Mexico and Canada.

If contracted in the US:

The salary range for this position is $94,600 to $116,000 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a 10% performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
