Lead Electrical Component Engineer

Job Description Summary

This Lead Electrical Component Engineer position is to provide the Engineering Department, as well as other departments, with technical support related to high voltage instrument transformers.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Guarantees product compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensures that all technical documentation required for the manufacturing and sales of the products (drawings, bill of materials, instructions, manuals, material specifications etc.) is prepared in high quality, efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Participates in development of new products, improvement and customization of existing products.
  • Supports manufacturing daily.
  • Supports the sales effort in the preparation of proposals and quotations, and the review of non-standard requirements.
  • Issues work requests for new assemblies required by customer specifications.
  • Generates, organize and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) and releases BOM's to production.
  • Generates Engineer Change Notices.
  • Participates in hand-off meeting for new contracts.
  • Reviews returned approval drawings.
  • Assists production departments with problems related to electrical design.
  • Supports Marketing/Sales Department with technical information.
  • Provides support to Planning, Purchasing, QA and Production Departments with technical information.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering position

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven leadership skills to drive projects and meet targets and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of IEEE & IEC standards governing the development and testing of high voltage instrument transformers
  • Strong technical background
  • Ability to work and manage projects autonomously with little oversight.
  • Ability to work successfully in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
