Onsite - This position requires the employee to be onsite full time. The primary work location will be at the General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren, MI.

As part of this pursuit, we have established an Autonomous Robotics Center within Vehicle Systems which leads the robotic development and planning for industry leading next generation of robots for use within all centers at General Motors. This is an extremely exciting and challenging opportunity to play a key role in our automation solutioning activity within GM with respect to our current and future activities as we move forward towards industry 4.0. We have embarked on an exciting journey to build our own Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) similar to our car production.

We are seeking a highly skilled individual whose expertise spans multiple functions to join our team as a Material Launch Coordinator. The position combines four traditional roles on a low volume, small scale with the responsibilities of a Material Launch Coordinator, Global Supply Chain Manager, GSC Analyst, and track and trace of supplier quality.

What You Will Do

  • PFEP (Plan for Every Part)/MasterDot from a GPSC Perspective: Develop, implement, and manage PFEP strategies to ensure efficient inventory and part management.
  • Track Release of Parts for Production: Monitor and manage the release of parts ensuring timely and accurate delivery for production needs.
  • Vendor/Contract Tracking and PO Issuance: Oversee vendor contracts, track progress, and issue purchase orders, as necessary.
  • BOM Tracking: Utilize Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure all components are correctly accounted for throughout the production process.
  • Ensure complete BOM meets MRD dates and raise issues early with program team, manufacturing, and purchasing.
  • Support SQE activities with High-Risk Suppliers
  • Assure supplier compliance with the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submission where occasionally required, monitor FMEA and Run at Rate to meet or exceed program requirements.
  • Manage Supplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS) and cost recovery systems to track issues through closure.
  • Optimize inventory levels for unique material flow strategies (Broadcast window, XFR, etc)
  • Inventory data analytics and system enhancements and e2e Visibility (Supplier Health)
  • Lead and facilitate contact with suppliers to resolve all non purchasing material issues
  • Create and maintain Material Launch Matrix
  • Validate material flow and shipping plans

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 3+ years of professional industry experience in a automotive manufacturing or product development role.
  • Expert level MS Excel experience - pivot tables, and power BI
  • Proven ability to effectively navigate and manage complex, uncertain situations, demonstrating comfort with ambiguity and adaptability in decision-making.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or other Engineering Disciplines, OR a related field OR 5+ years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Manufacturing or supply chain launch and planning experience including knowledge of manufacturing readiness systems; E-squared.
  • Key experience leading material transformation - new technologies, material flow, material handling equipment automation, and Factory of the Future Material concepts.
