About the Role:
The Business Resilience Specialist supports CrowdStrike's global Business Resilience (BR) department, responsible for crisis management and business continuity/disaster recovery. CrowdStrike takes an all-hazards approach to ensuring business operations and products/services can withstand disruptions, incidents, and crisis events. The BR department is one element of the overall Security business unit, reporting to the Chief Security Officer.
This role will be primarily responsible for supporting company disaster recovery (DR) planning in addition to general BR program activities, including business continuity analysis, planning, and crisis response.
What You'll Do:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with IT functional teams to manage and maintain the overall IT DR strategy and framework
- Consult with application service owners and support teams to align disaster recovery framework, strategy and plans to support business needs
- Work with stakeholders across the enterprise to validate technical resilience and test incident management capabilities
- Support planning and conduct of disaster recovery tests and exercises, including after-action reporting and corrective action identification
- Conduct business impact analysis (BIA) and threat/hazard assessments
- Develop, maintain, and update business continuity plans (BCP), crisis plans, and other response procedures
- Develop training and awareness programs to promote a culture of resilience
- Support incident management team activations
- Ensure continuous improvement of the company's resilience posture
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across the company
- Partner closely with other teams in support of risk/resilience planning, including Information Security, Governance/Risk/Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management
- 3-5 years of direct experience in business/operational resilience and/or business continuity, with a focus in technical resilience or disaster recovery
- Technical understanding of technology recovery and knowledge of Cloud solutions
- Relevant certification in one or more business continuity, disaster recovery, or IT disciplines (e.g., CBCP, MBCI, DRCS, ITIL, CISSP)
- Proven ability to work independently with efficiency, flexibility, and speed
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills with the ability to communicate concepts to technical as well as non-technical audiences
- Effective written and oral communication skills, including experience developing and delivering briefings to top management
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and project management skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends during crisis events
- Bachelor's degree in Risk/Resilience or related fields, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with supporting crisis management events (public or private sector)
- Technology sector experience, particularly Cloud native
- Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Snowflake) and Business Continuity software
- Knowledge and experience of ISO27001 certification maintenance and/or implementation, and application of or detailed knowledge of ISO22301
