Summary
The Design Associate provides general design support to a Senior Designer as a member of our Design team supporting the design and specification of contract furniture solutions.

Our Design team works closely with our Sales team and clients to plan and specify contract furniture using CET and AutoCAD software. We work closely with our partners at MillerKnoll to bring cutting edge workplace strategy and design to commercial, institutional, healthcare and hospitality settings. Primary responsibilities for this role include drawing in AutoCAD and CET, red line corrections, space planning, site verification & field measurements, product specifications, installation drawings, product inventory, and assisting the designer with daily tasks.

Upon mastery of general design support and a proven track record of success, the candidate will transition into the role of Designer. The Designer position is responsible for providing space planning, furniture applications, visualizations, specifications, and installation drawings; all while maintaining a high level of satisfaction with internal and external client groups.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD & SketchUp required.
  • Familiarity with floor plans and other interior design or architectural drawings.
  • High level of attention to detail and technical proficiency required.
  • Excellent note taking skills required.
  • Adobe Acrobat, BlueBeam, CET, CAP Designer, CAP Worksheet, experience preferred.
  • BS or BA degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Familiarity of building, accessibility, and life safety codes preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate, plan, organize and manage multiple responsibilities and high-volume workload effectively with speed and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated, innovative and team focused.
  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers

Work Environment

  • Work performed in fast-paced office environment daily with visits to various sites including warehouse, construction sites, client sites and offices
  • Environment subject to schedule and priority changes without advance notice
