Social Worker LMSW (Part-time)

Summary:

To provide direct Social Work services to patients and families who have acute or chronic medical conditions. The Social Worker provides ongoing supportive counseling aimed at maintaining the functional behavior of families. The social worker assesses families for needed assistance with resource procurement that aids the family's efforts in caring for their child in either the ambulatory or inpatient care setting.

Qualifications:

  • MSW/MSSW from an accredited school of Social Work.
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting and some prior experience working with children and families is preferred.
  • Current Texas License for LMSW Basis Life Support (BLS) Certification for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of employment and must be maintained per Medical Center Policy, MC 175.
