Summary:
The Epic Pharmacy Informatics Specialist uses clinical pharmacy knowledge to recommend, develop, and implement pharmacy workflows and other clinical decision support tools within the electronic health record. Provides leadership and support for pharmacy application systems analysts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Applying analytical and technical skills to support the design, analysis, and implementation of pharmacy information systems and their related applications that assist clinicians in delivering patient care. Serves as a resource to the customers throughout Cook Children's Healthcare System to produce desired health outcomes related to medications prescribed, prepared, and dispensed through the electronic health record.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy degree required from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- At least 3 years of experience in healthcare pharmacy operations.
- Extensive understanding of pharmacy workflows.
- At least 2 years of experience in healthcare information technology or completion of pharmacy informatics residency preferred.
- Experience in pediatric pharmacy practice with state-of-the-art unit dose drug distribution system preferred.
- Epic Willow Inpatient or Epic Willow Ambulatory certification highly preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- Registered pharmacist with Texas licensure (or eligible) required.
- Epic certification is required within 6 months from employment, including 2 test retakes.
