Position Summary

The Implementation Manager will report to the Director, Digital Health Planning & Business Strategy. The role requires a blend of technical and business expertise, with the ability to understand business dynamics, and translate digital product concepts into technical roadmaps, and lead cross-functional and multi-business teams to build and scale the result across the enterprise. Cross-functional role works to execute on implementation and development initiatives related to digital health solutions that improve access and enable clinical transformation at City of Hope. Lead discovery, design, and implementation of virtual care tools across City of Hope. Serve as an interface with all functional areas within the organization as well as external strategic partners for respective digital health solutions.

The ideal candidate must have strong business acumen, project management, communication and presentation development skills. Manages the coordination of all cross functional teams that will be involved in the implementation process of products and services for new clients. The Implementation Manager must be able to manage a detailed project plan with key milestones and deliverables. They will coordinate a cadence of meetings to keep the implementation on track and will escalate identified issues appropriately and timely to leadership. The individual must possess excellent communication skills as they will forward face to very discerning customers.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Oversees and supports multiple implementation projects in collaboration with ITS
  • Reviews stakeholder requirements, develops project plans, and ensures the implementations are completed on time, within budget, and meets stakeholder expectations.
  • Involved in pre-sales discussions, providing assistance in scoping projects and/or developing proposals.
  • Has a continuing role in user support to address issues in the usage of services; manage post-implementation enhancements
  • Understand the customer's business and business challenges and align RFP response and engagement strategy to address challenges.
  • Lead/drive the RFP response process end to end recognizing the unique needs of the group.
  • Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing services.
  • Effectively influences stakeholders in support of program implementation.
  • Encourages and provides constructive feedback to improve performance.
  • Responsible for all phases of project management of initiatives and work streams.
  • Maintains an awareness of program goals and objectives and navigates solutions towards desired ends, while maintaining relationships and supporting consensus.
  • Utilizes all available information appropriately to guide decisions and negotiations to meet objectives, while acting with integrity.
  • Inspires and persuades others to voluntarily follow direction, pursue and achieve goals, and adopt new positions or opinions.
  • Produces analysis and presentations to support strategic decisions and priorities.
  • Develops tools to manage projects and key decisions, communication, issues, problems areas, schedule delays, or other events which could affect project scope or completion.
  • Coordinates resources to achieve cost, budget and quality expectations for projects.
  • Manages relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Experience with budget & schedule development, management and tracking
  • Exercises critical thinking and evaluates options for solving problems and achieving goals.
  • Tracks and reports department and project progress toward goals.
  • Provides data driven solutions that promote continuous improvement.
  • Create and execute project work stream work plans, milestones and metrics to align with project outcomes. Revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of project work stream and scope
  • Supports the organization in their direct leadership of initiatives (e.g. serves as a consultative resource to guide work streams and hold them accountable for deliverables to support project milestones and execution.)
  • Identify resources needed and provide guidance, direction and support to functional resources to ensure entity metrics and milestones are achieved.
  • Project planning, execution, and control, integrating project components such as schedule, cost, quality, risk, and leadership in compliance with Project Management best practices.
    Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • Bachelors in Business Administration or related discipline. Extensive relevant experience may be substituted for minimum education requirements
  • Must have at least five years of recent related industry experience.

Preferred education experience and skills:
  • PMP certified preferred
  • Complex project management experience for healthcare or health plan/TPA projects. Familiarity with Epic modules and offerings.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and innovative mindset to handle multiple projects and deliverables
  • Ability to drive results, entrepreneurial self-starter
  • Ability to manage all processes throughout the life-cycle of a project
  • Leadership skills to effectively manage project teams
  • Ability to navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast -paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite.
  • Strong knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Pro, preferred.
