What you will be doing

The Senior Director - Strategy Consulting will lead a team of consultants dedicated to providing comprehensive global strategy consulting services in the field of Life Sciences. In collaboration with senior management, actively contribute to the development and execution of strategies and tactics aimed at driving growth within the Life Sciences sector and the broader business. This includes prioritizing business development, nurturing talent within the organization, shaping company strategy, overseeing management tasks, and facilitating the growth and development of the Vintura team. In projects, assumes the role of a coach for the team, ensuring quality assurance throughout the process, and bringing senior experience when necessary to engage with clients effectively.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strong business development focus

  • Key leading role to build and expand our Cencora Strategy Consulting practice in the US.
  • Building client relationships and network, mainly in the Big Pharma domain and SMIDs. This can partially be achieved by further leveraging existing client relationships with Cencora US and Cencora EU.
  • More specifically, expand excellent Cencora Strategy Consulting client relationships at EU HQ of big pharma and SMIDs companies. Expanding EU accounts into global accounts. Exporting/expanding EU client programs/projects by adding US scope, and visa versa exporting/expanding US programs/projects to EU.
  • Build relevant client network in the US, also independent of existing relationships, by approaching target accounts by entering at the right level, herewith leveraging our track record and illustrate show cases to create trust and credibility.
  • Use trusted strategy consulting position as an opportunity to cross-sell expert services such as HEOR, RA, 3PL. This is specifically applicable when talking to leadership teams of SMIDs, e.g. support US to EU commercialization and visa versa.
  • Launch and participate in marketing initiatives to further develop the US market: events, congresses, publications, ...

Build local team and capabilities

  • Ensure optimal utilization by leveraging existing capabilities within Cencora-Vintura consultants globally, and also within our VDC and across-VDCs where applicable.
  • In sync with business development efforts and success, further expand the team adding the right capabilities and talents.
  • Attract talents that have a business and strategy profile (strong communicators/presenters, conceptual thinkers, and able to make analytical deep-dives once approach and problem have been defined).
  • Inspire the team, be an example strategy consultant and leader. Develop and coach the US talent pool.
  • Install necessary conditions for success of the US team by leveraging Cencora-Vintura specific tools and Cencora generic back-office and functions.

Build organization and be part of leadership team

  • Be part of Cencora-Vintura senior leadership team (i.e. board) covering US and EU. This role entails overarching group discussions and requires a Group mindset that is geo independent. Participate in monthly meetings.
  • Take part in Cencora-Vintura Partner discussions on strategy & organization. Champion certain organizational initiatives to further build the Cencora-Vintura Group or Cencora Group as a whole.
  • Drive/support PMI of potential US-based acquisitions of Strategy Consultancy 'boutiques' in Life Sciences and Healthcare.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare or business-related area is minimum educational requirement. MBA or other relevant advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in strategy consulting combined with life science industry.
  • Normally requires 5-10 years of practical consulting experience, of which at least 5 years supervising senior project teams and direct level reports.
  • Proven success in business development role with extensive track record in executing to grow overall revenues and customer/user base
  • Familiar with using information portals (healthcare or other industries) and CRMs (Salesforce, etc...)

  • Ability to maintain customer networks and relationships on a trusted-partner basis
  • Business development and project delivery normally requires 35% travel

Skills

  • Strong communicator with strong people skills, excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism
  • Creative and articulate with excellent communication and presentation skills with various stakeholders
  • Excellent writing skills as well as the ability to communicate complex material in presentations and discussions in a straightforward manner
