About the role:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our Global Operations team. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the designing, integration, and implementation process of our innovative public safety products for our clients in the national first responders systems (911) and government sectors worldwide. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of service is delivered to our customers 24/7. This position based in New York City, with occasional travel requirements.

Here's what you'll be working on:

  • Lead the Design, integration, and implementation process in various deployment schemes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement network solutions that meet public safety products.
  • Lead network projects, including network establishment, upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
  • Configure and maintain Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco switches, and routers, among other networking equipment and ensure network security by implementing best practices and conducting regular security audits.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability and perform production system and home system upgrades, as well as debug sessions independently in a mission-critical live system.
  • Thrive in a high-activity/fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities and resolve complex problems independently, leveraging data analytics and troubleshooting skills.
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to build and resolve network-related challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a network engineer or equivalent in critical service industries with a focus on designing and implementing complex network solutions.
  • Strong experience with AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
  • In-depth knowledge of planning, designing, implementing, and operating an Enterprise IT network environment and data center network.
  • Hands-on configuration and operational knowledge of Fortinet Firewalls, SD-WAN Cisco switches, and routers.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, and DNS.
  • Experience with build and design rack/cabinet/cage construction for network infrastructure.
  • Proven expertise in SD-WAN planning, design, implementation, and operations.
  • Knowledge and experience in network monitoring and optimization tools.
  • Ability to perform production system and home system upgrades, as well as debug sessions independently in a mission-critical live system.
  • Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment, such as Cisco switches and routers, Palo Alto firewalls, and Juniper devices.
  • Comfortable working with data analytics and resolving complex problems independently.
  • Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-activity/fast-paced environment, handling ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working with public safety customers.
  • Familiarity with Esinet.
  • Familiarity with SIP and VoIP technologies, including AudioCodes Mediant Gateway certification (M2K, T1, CAMA, SIP, etc.).
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking or Solution Architect certification
  • Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and VMware certifications
  • Ability to generate and maintain deployment procedures, best practices, and guidance
  • Proficiency in documenting, diagramming, and presenting information using Visio/Draw.io

The pay range for this position in New York City is $120,000 - $170,000 + equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401K). Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
