The Leidos Digital Modernization Group has an opening for a Senior Network Engineer on the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) End User Support Services (EUS) contract. In this role you will join a team of seasoned professionals focused on providing End User Networking and Performance Analysis Support Service to our customer across the United States. This position provides a tremendous opportunity for growth in a customer-facing, fast-paced, and challenging environment. This role is focused on day-to-day operations for Headquarters, Data Centers. Regional offices, and various satellite offices.

Primary Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will function as the Senior Network Engineer as part of the End User Services contract supporting the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

This candidate will report to the Leidos Network Administration Manager and provide Network Operations and Performance Analysis support for IT service-related activities in support of the HUD EUS contract. The selected candidate must possess a broad knowledge of networking operations, protocols, expertise in network packet analysis and excellent problem identification and resolution skills. The candidate will work with cross-functional teams for problem identification and resolution and is required to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people of varying knowledge levels. The candidate must be willing to share knowledge and upskill fellow team members.

Specifically, in this role you will be responsible for Installation, administration, maintenance, and use of the following products and tools:

  • Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) , Cisco Firepower Management Center , Cisco Switches and Firewalls, Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine).
  • Ixia Vision E10S packet broker appliance.
  • Plixer Scrutinizer NetFlow Analyzer.
  • Riverbed SteelCentral Packet Analyzer Plus.
  • SolarWinds Orion NPM (Network Performance Monitor)
  • Wireshark packet capture and analysis.
  • Documentation of standard IT processes and procedures.
  • Implementation and maintenance of compliance policies across the environment.


  • Participating or responding to other initiatives and additional tools services, and technologies as direct by Manager or Program Office as required..

Typically, responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff. Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.

Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the Information Technology field with a BS degree OR a Masters with a minimum of 6 years prior experience in lieu of degree.
  • Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure).
  • Must have Zscaler, ZPA, ZIA, ZDX experience, and a minimum of 8 years experience with Cisco Network exp.
  • Relevant CompTIA Networking and Networking and Industry Certifications Certifications.
  • Experience in the Information Technology field with a strong exposure to networking principles and best practices.
  • Must have Cloud Capabilities, and Software-Defined Wide Area Network experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of proven networking experience with customer interaction.
  • Knowledge of secure network design and implementation.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco switches, firewalls, and routers.
  • Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution.
  • Experience with advanced networking principles, technologies, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with alerting and monitoring best practices, tools, and products. and a strong understanding of advanced networking concepts.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain public trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IPv6 experience a plus.
  • 10+ years Cisco Networking Experience.
  • Ability to document networking architecture.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
