Join our growing team to support an expanding, dynamic business! We are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for the Commercial Trading Desks. Our goal is to assist with the effective management of the Company's assets, liabilities, and capital position to help achieve long-term financial objectives and ensure that all regulatory and investor requirements are satisfied. This includes identifying and managing market risks, specifically interest rate, credit, and market volatility, that affect or have the potential to affect financial results, balance sheet strength, and investor confidence.

The ideal candidate will provide thought leadership in establishing and driving oversight frameworks, along with ownership of monitoring and reporting activities. The responsibilities cover a broad set of capital markets areas, and offer an excellent opportunity for future increase in scope and career progress.   • Producing and analyzing daily trading gains and losses for structured products trading desks.
  • Explaining and validating drivers for profit and loss information, liaising with traders, operations, risk offices, and others.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial data for Commercial Trading Desks to Head Traders and Market Risk Office.
  • Supporting the month-end close process ensuring appropriate cutoffs and independent price verifications are performed.
  • Coordinating with Regulatory and SEC reporting on quarterly and annual disclosure requirements and fair value hierarchy assessments (e.g. Level 1, 2, and 3 classifications).
  • Liaising with internal auditors, external auditors, and regulators.
  • Assisting in new product evaluation and development for various Capital Markets products.
  • Recommending and implementing process improvements related to reporting accuracy, automation, and efficiency.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Military experience
  • At least 7 years of experience in Product Control, Financial Control, or a combination
  • At least 3 years supporting Fixed Income products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Economics OR Master's degree in Finance OR Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance
  • 3 years of experience in quantitative analysis of fixed income portfolio performance and P/L analysis
  • 3 years' experience with Front, Middle, and Back office activities for structured products debt securities
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) OR Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designations

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Manager, Capital Markets & Risk

McLean, VA: $193,000 - $220,300 for Sr. Manager, Capital Markets & Risk

New York, NY: $210,500 - $240,300 for Sr. Manager, Capital Markets & Risk

Plano, TX: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Manager, Capital Markets & Risk

Richmond, VA: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Manager, Capital Markets & Risk

Wilmington, DE: $175,500 - $200,300 for Sr. Manager, Capital Markets & Risk

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
