Senior Business Director - HR Strategic Operations

The Strategic Operations leader tasked with both accelerating delivery of most critical strategic priorities for Enterprise HR (eHR) and continually elevating well-managed HR operations globally. Specifically, they will lead teams that focus on:

  • Strategic project and portfolio management, continually ensuring prioritization based on highest leverage (including engineering capacity)
  • eHR strategic operating model, including annual strategic and financial planning, scorecarding, MBRs, QBRs, leadership forums (e.g., onsites), and financial management (in partnership with Finance)
  • Partnership with LOB HR to continually strengthen interaction model and increase collaboration / velocity on two-way feedback loops
  • Partnership with HR and Corporate Communications on information architecture, knowledge management, and communications, including newsletters, townhalls, and leadership forums
  • Holistic customer success and product marketing across HR product portfolio
  • Primary liaison and escalation point for partnerships across broader enterprise
  • Additional chief of staff duties as needed

You have:

  • Experience as a leader-of-leaders, capable of managing a high-performing team with a diverse portfolio of work
  • Exceptional structured problem solving skills; comfortable with process engineering, designing KPIs, closed-loop accountability mechanisms, etc. (you may have experience in service process design whether human services or technical services such as manufacturing flows or designing APIs)
  • Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals
  • Strategic influencing skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders and a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Highly collaborative; the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Comfort in ambiguity with a tenacious drive toward critical decisions
  • Incredibly well-managed and focus on driving innovation in process and execution across our portfolio
  • Ability to hold VP+ stakeholders and partner teams accountable to commitments
  • Capable of leading special projects autonomously and through partnership with cross functional teams
  • Discretion in handling highly sensitive issues

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
  • At least 2 years of experience in strategy or operations consulting or product management
  • At least 2 years of experience in people management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Engineering, Management, or Finance
  • PMP, CFA, FRM, CPA
  • 5+ years of experience in people management
  • 5+ years of experience in scaled project or program management
  • 3+ years of experience in product management
  • 3+ years of experience in financial modeling or quantitative analysis

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $264,300 - $301,700 for Sr Business Director

Richmond, VA: $240,300 - $274,300 for Sr Business Director

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
