Accounts Payable Risk Manager

As an Accounts Payable Risk Manager at Capital One you'll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. Risk Managers at Capital One are the front line of defense to ensure our Company remains stable and profitable.

Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as interdepartmental liaison, interfacing with lines of business and staff functions such as HR, Treasury, Procurement, and other areas of Risk
  • Gather data and reporting; perform initial analysis or potentially evaluate data provided by team analysts
  • Design and implement internal governance processes
  • Take on operational leadership for our external/internal payments related to the Latin American Expansion
  • Act as project lead for future expansion projects
  • Continued analysis of end to end payment value stream with focus on identifying control gaps as new processes are implemented
  • Manage, implement and deliver on a subset of the program deliverables
  • Operational lead in our fast growing sales/use tax and interunit settlement spaces

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of Financial Services Risk Management Experience
  • At least 2 years working with AP/Interunit in foreign currencies
  • At least 2 years of People Management experience
  • At least 3 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk
  • At least 3 years of Financial Services risk management experience
  • At least 5 years of People Management experience
  • Experience with Sales Use Tax and Foreign Currency a plus
  • Reg W Knowledge and intercompany agreement experience
  • PMP Certification or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM)
  • Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams
