I can succeed as a Defined Contribution (DC) Specialist Senior

As a Defined Contribution Senior Specialist, you are a product specialist. You will be responsible for providing support to the intermediary sales force and institutional client/consultant relationship managers to strengthen existing and develop new DC relationships. The DC specialist will deliver retirement industry expertise including plan design, regulatory trends/impact and convey Capital's retirement thought leadership to sophisticated external clients and prospects. Additionally, The DC specialist will demonstrate full and complete knowledge of Capital's retirement product offering, investment solutions and economic outlook and serve as a subject matter expert to internal product and business development teams.

  • Works collaboratively and travel with the sales force to provide retirement expertise and assist in growing sales with heavy retirement plan advisers, consultants, retirement plan platforms, and mega plan sponsors.
  • Serves as a specialized resource that Capital's sales force can leverage to deepen relationships with the firm's best retirement clients and prospects.
  • Supports the sales force by representing Capital's entire retirement product line including CIT's, SMA's, insurance products, proprietary recordkeeping platforms, IRA's, and target date funds.
  • Effectively communicate Capital's views on defined contribution plan design.
  • Properly position Capital's/American Funds' solutions to meet the needs of sponsors and their participants.
  • Delivers Capital's retirement thought leadership to audiences of various sizes in one-on-one meetings and at industry conferences and client events.

You will provide Retirement Business Support

  • Participate in Capital's retirement product development efforts.
  • Assist with the development of retirement thought leadership.
  • Provide a real-time voice of the customer in go-to-market strategy development.
  • Act as the conduit of information between the DC marketplace and the business leaders and sales force.

I am the person Capital Group is looking for:

  • I Minimum of 10 years' experience in the financial services industry in a client facing, retirement product sales and/or business development role.
  • Exhibit a solid understanding of the investment needs, business objectives, and overall issues facing DC plan sponsors and intermediaries including consultants, retirement plan advisers, third party administrators and recordkeeping platforms.
  • Demonstrated the ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships inside and outside of the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives.
  • Ability to identify issues and recommend solutions on complex and broad matters.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Effective written and communication and presentation skills to interact with a diverse group of associates, senior business leaders, and individuals outside of the organization.
  • Exceptional team player, with strong collaboration skills.
  • Highly motivated and self-sufficient.
  • Multitask and be execution oriented.
  • Unwavering ethics and integrity. I am value oriented.
  • Has a low ego.
  • Driven, enthusiastic and creative.
  • Undergraduate degree required, strong preference for a CFA or MBA.
  • Series 7 and Series 63 (or equivalent - ie. 66) is required

Base Salary Range $175,000- $225,000

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
