Practice Area Profile

As a Senior Enterprise Architect, you will work closely with clients to understand their issues, define IT strategies, architecture solutions, win buy-in for your recommendations, and collaborate with fellow BCGers to transform client potential into performance.

You will have operational architecture project responsibility, you will participate in project team (s) in a large, complex enterprise environment, drive operational and client service excellence.
You will assess solution architecture and landscape, define target state, and develop roadmaps. Define and drive implementation of technical architectures and proof of concepts, building unique solutions to the complexities our clients face.
Work cohesively with hybrid case teams consisting of BCG Team on IT/technology transformation projects. Align business and technology strategies to deliver impactful insights and outcomes jointly with client management.

Design innovative technology solutions across various projects/clients to solve complex business problems.
Together with our clients, you will develop superior digital and technology concepts and architecture solutions as well as support technical implementations actively and on site, applying your sound technical know-how, your understanding of business contexts, and your analytical and conceptual skills.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

Developing & Designing
• Analyzing complex IT application landscapes
• Analyzing the status quo and optimization of IT architectures
• Identifying non-trivial technology decisions facing a client
• Storytelling about architectural building blocks and their importance
• Road mapping and business case development

Controlling & Managing
• Reviewing vendor proposals and/or in-flight technical work
• IT project management and quality assurance
• Optimizing application development processes

Building community
• Advising internal colleagues on core technical concepts and frameworks
• Advising fellow architects on areas relevant to an area you have depth in
• Developing a network in the BCG technical community and leveraging it for our clients

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

Experience of 06 - 10 years in software development, technical project management, digital delivery, or technology consulting.
University degree with above average academic performance in information technology, computer science, computer engineering or related areas.
Ability to bring unique tech perspectives from outside the consulting industry into BCG's typical engagements, requiring:
v Consulting experience is required.
v Strategic mindset (hypothesis driven, 80:20 mindset, iterative approach, activist stance).
v Self-managed.
Understanding and exposure of enterprise architecture (Enterprise, Solutions or Applications). principles and exposure to architecting modern data platforms at an enterprise scale.
Ability to articulate trade-offs and drive high-impact technology decisions on topics including (but not limited to) IaaS/PaaS providers, container orchestration, service mesh, API gateways, and commercial vs. open-source software.
Enterprise architectural frameworks and methods including TOGAF and/or related certifications.
Approaches to managing Architectural debt, Architecture governance and evolution in practice.
Micro services topologies, including operational concerns such as resiliency, observability, discovery and routing, security etc.
Have experience with, and understand how to lead, legacy integration and remediation (facades, strangler approaches, et. al.)
Deep understanding of different integration patterns and best practices such as events, synchronous vs. asynchronous.
Fluent English, Spanish is a plus.

You`ll be travelingAt BCG Platinion you will have the opportunity to travel around the globe to work with clients and BCG teams. At times, this role involves significant travel to client sites. The amount of travel will depend on client needs and nature of projects.
