Senior Enterprise Architect

Enterprise architects will spearhead creating, communicating, and implementing the organization's architectural vision and strategy across business, data, application, and technology domains.

They'll ensure alignment with the company's objectives and Tech Guiding Principles, lead architectural governance and compliance efforts, and drive the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies.

This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure architectural solutions meet business needs and are scalable, secure, and efficient, fostering innovation and maintaining a competitive edge through technological advancement.

Responsibilities:
  • Architectural Vision and Strategy Development: Formulate and communicate the overarching architectural vision and strategy, aligning with business objectives and Tech Guiding Principles.
  • Cross-Domain Architecture Design: Design and implement architectures across business, data, application, and technology domains.
  • Governance and Compliance: Lead governance processes to ensure architectural compliance and alignment with standards.
  • Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Spearhead the evaluation of emerging technologies and manage their adoption within the organization.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure architectural solutions meet business and technological needs.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring robust, secure solutions.
  • Innovation Leadership: Drive innovation within the architectural domain, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technological advancement.
  • Community Building: Promote and facilitate a strong community of practice among architects, encouraging knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Technical Leadership: coaching and mentoring top tech talent across Booking.com
Ideal Experience & Skills:
  • Significant knowledge and experience in Software, Solution and Enterprise architecture, while being able to perform at and engage with (Sr) Director/(S)VP level stakeholders
  • Experience operating large, Internet scale applications and distributed systems spanning multiple languages, platforms, front and back end services, networks and public cloud platforms.
  • Ability to communicate and sell the technology strategy and vision across the business
  • Deep business acumen and technical expertise
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and thought partnership across engineering and product
  • Highly proficient in domain based technology strategies and in platform architecture patterns
  • Strong understanding of digital technology space including mobile, web and distribution stacks
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies and emerging technologies including AI
  • Strong understanding of NFRs and building resilience
  • Ability to lead and coach others in modeling solution architectures
  • Ability to lead and influence others without authority
