The Film Production department specializes in all forms of storytelling from moving imagery and content, to animations and graphics, to audio, musical, and sonic led narratives. Job Summary

Representing the department at its highest level and standards, the Executive Producer, Film is responsible for leading Droga5's production process, driving craft, and championing innovative production strategies and solutions that promote and elevate each of our client's creative outputs. Working closely with all production disciplines, agency internal teams, and external clients, the Executive Producer, Film sets the bar for production knowledge, experience, ambition, and execution. Working immediately below the Director and Associate Director of Film Production, they work alongside all production sub-disciplines in addition to being expected to step in and lead their own individual projects. The Executive Producer, Film also plays a larger role in the ethos of the department by guiding and training junior members and reinforcing the consistency of Droga5's established production process and output standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Creative department to establish a creative point of view and push to improve creative output through execution and craft
  • Represent, at all times, a total mastery of the production process including complete and thorough knowledge of the single and competitive bidding process, production calendar planning, union and non-union budget projections and planning (e.g. rates and structures), legal and ethical risk, billing, meeting arrangements, confidentiality, and indemnification, etc.)
  • Research and share best practices and learnings across different production models
  • Proactively oversee the day-to-day communications activities (daily team check-ins, regular reporting to Business Affairs and Department heads, billing, meeting arrangements, confidentiality, and indemnification, etc.)
  • Build and maintain robust client specific administrative systems (e.g. onboarding decks and presentation materials) and adhere scrupulously to existing ones
  • Take ownership of internal team and production partner's time management needs (meeting scheduling, setting up conference/video calls, establishing production needs and expectations, etc.)
  • Provide internal client and agency production expertise (production travel planning, expense management, client material resourcing, etc.) as well as keeping up to date with all industry best practices, informing internal teams and clients of all current and future industry protocols and initiatives
  • Effectively set and manage internal and external production, budget, and timing expectations with the team and client and provide clearly communicated realities, solutions, and opportunities before and throughout the process
  • Guide and mentor junior members of the team, celebrating successes in addition to delivering precise and timely feedback and follow up
  • Identify potential opportunities to push Droga5's internal production initiatives including identifying and securing sustainable and inclusive production capabilities as well as working with teams to see them come to life
  • Regularly contribute and expand upon the team's knowledge of production partners - Directors, editors, VFX, Sound engineers, musicians etc.
  • Work closely with the Business Affairs Department (including Talent and Traffic) to oversee quality control and close out projects in a thorough, consistent, and timely manner
  • Forge strong relationships with internal and external teams that create sustainable, scaleable, and long-lasting client standards and processes
  • Always lend a positive hand and lead by example (internally and externally) no matter the challenge and recognize that, as an expert within the department the team and agency look to you for proactive, productive, and constructive leadership
  • Directly produce work in addition to managing our overall brands and production teams
  • Oversee and manage the assigned client's scoping needs. Work alongside the Production Operations lead and secure necessary resourcing for upcoming work streams
  • Be client facing and act as the key voice for production and intersection between agency teams
  • Work with Account and Creative leadership to strategically plan forward the long-term production opportunities that will most benefit our client's and the work
  • Adhere to established Droga5 administrative systems and agency best practices

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in agency production working with industry standard unions (SAG/AFTRA, DGA, AFM, etc.)
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing agency production teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of working with a cost consultant or client equivalent
  • Experienced client manager with strong presentation skills
  • Experienced producing a range of content for Research, TV, Cinema & Online to include large and low budget US and global based productions, table top, and animation
  • Advanced knowledge of the production process including significant experience and knowledge regarding union and non-union talent, BA, insurance, bid rate structures, and international (non-US) productions
  • Experienced manager training and guiding junior team members
  • Passion for creative storytelling within advertising
  • Thorough understanding of Google and Microsoft products
  • Positive, respectful, fun and collaborative
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
