Dream Job Alert: You Can Get Paid to Travel and Drink Beer This Summer (You Read That Right)

Can I be honest? Yes, I recently reported on the LEGO, NASA, and Netflix jobs because they sound awesome. But no, I didn’t personally shoot over my resume because they’re not exactly awesome for me.

You know what is? Getting paid to travel around the country drinking craft beer.

If, like me, you think the craft beer craze isn’t a craze at all and is just getting started, and you can’t possibly think of anything better to do with your summer besides visit breweries and beer festivals, then this could be your very lucky day.

World of Beer is accepting applications for DrinkIt Interns through Saturday. Whether you’re a writer, photographer, or beer aficionado, the highly interactive role—again, you travel from brewery to brewery, taste from a variety of taps, and then talk about with other beer lovers—has got to be one of the best internship opportunities of the decade.

You will need to get creative with your application materials; this isn’t a standard cover letter and resume type role. The company is requesting that you submit a short video explaining why you should be one of the chosen few. Oh, and they’d also (surprise!) like it if you shared your candidacy on your social media channels. Don’t just tell your friends over happy hour tonight that you applied, take it to the next level and brag about it on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Periscope.

As to who can apply? As long as you’re of the legal drinking age, you’re good to go. So, whether you still haven’t snagged a summer internship, you’re looking for a good reason to quit your job this summer, or you’re in between positions, the deep dive into beer culture doesn’t discriminate. So go ahead, give it your best shot. Bonus points if you can make one of the in-person interviews WOB is hosting—there will, of course, be beer there.

But, you know, if this doesn’t work out, we have a few more options you might love.
