Business Technology

ZS's Technology group focuses on scalable strategies, assets and accelerators that deliver to our clients enterprise-wide transformation via cutting-edge technology. We leverage digital and technology solutions to optimize business processes, enhance decision-making, and drive innovation. Our services include, but are not limited to, Digital and Technology advisory, Product and Platform development and Data, Analytics and AI implementation.

What you'll do as a Data Engineer:
  1. Data Pipeline Development & Optimization
    • Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
    • Work with batch and real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., dbt, Azure, Apache Spark, Kafka, Databricks).
    • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of data workflows.
  2. Cloud & Data Platform Engineering
    • Develop data solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
    • Manage data lakehouse architectures and implement data warehousing strategies (Snowflake, Redshift).
    • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automated provisioning (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  3. Data Governance, Security & Compliance
    • Implement GxP, FAIR data principles, and data lineage tracking.
    • Work with RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and data masking techniques to ensure compliance.
    • Ensure GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulatory alignment.
  4. Collaboration & Business Integration
    • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to enable AI, ML, and reporting use cases.
    • Develop APIs and data services for interoperability across platforms.
    • Optimize existing data architecture for cost efficiency and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction.


What you'll bring:

  • Strong expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, Scala.
  • Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, DBT) and workflow orchestration (Airflow, Prefect).
  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud-native data services (AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, GCP Dataflow).
  • Familiarity with data modeling, data mesh, and MDM solutions.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and MLOps integration.

Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fields.
  • Prior experience in pharma, life sciences, or healthcare analytics
  • Strong ability to work in cross-functional teams and align with business priorities.
