About the role

As a Principal Product Manager at Zillow Home Loans, you'll lead the vision and strategy for AI-powered solutions that reshape the mortgage experience-from shopping to getting the keys. Leveraging Zillow's unique ecosystem of technology, data, and services, you'll build products that help buyers increase affordability, reduce costs, and gain clarity throughout the financing journey.

You'll drive innovation by:

  • Applying AI to personalize financing options, anticipate borrower needs, and automate complex workflows
  • Taking ownership and creatively solving challenging customer and business problems
  • Prioritizing opportunities based on impact to buyers and alignment with Zillow's mission
  • Designing intelligent borrower experiences that use AI to surface relevant insights at the right time
  • Building scalable, AI-powered tools that drive efficiency, consistency, and transparency throughout the mortgage process
  • Partnering closely with engineers and machine learning scientists to explore and implement machine learning and generative AI solutions
  • Leading go-to-market efforts across cross-functional teams; testing strategies and iterating to meet business goals
  • Leveraging both technology and operations-augmented by ML-to streamline and elevate the customer journey
  • Fostering a culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision making
  • Partnering closely with engineering, design, and operations leaders to align strategy with execution

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $186,700.00 - $298,300.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of proficient ability in a product management role, with a focus on building AI solutions
  • Experience in highly regulated environment, Mortgage experience is a plus
  • Proven track record to thrive in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative cross-team environment.
  • Experience in applying the latest generative AI technologies, such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and state-of-the-art agentic frameworks.
  • Familiarity with design and user research methodologies specific to AI, enabling user-centered product development.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a history of building and maintaining strong relationships by involving the right people at the right time throughout the development process.
  • Experience working in a technical environment with a broad, cross functional team to drive product vision, define product requirements, coordinate resources from other groups (design, legal, etc.), and guide the team through key milestones
  • Demonstrated experience getting up to speed quickly in new, complex spaces
  • Demonstrated ability to approach complex challenges by considering the interconnectedness of various components within a system, understanding how changes in one area can impact the entire system
  • Customer-centricity, service design based approach, experience working software and operations
  • Hypothesis driven product development, analytical thinking, strong command of data
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to lead multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal) capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both business and technical audiences.
