Cloud Solutions Architect (Remote, UK).
Your Role
This role requires managing the technical requirements of our go-to-market efforts with a major partner, working closely with internal teams and this partner ecosystem. Your efforts will enable our partner to better sell solutions that include Wind River products. You will position and provide support for Wind River’s portfolio including eLxr Pro Linux, Studio Operator and other Wind River Edge products as needed. You will also leverage the OpenStack Foundation’s StarlingX project to deliver geographically distributed, high-performance, production-grade Kubernetes-based solutions for managing edge cloud infrastructure. The solutions you will support address complex challenges of deploying physically distributed clouds at scale and managing highly available and secure platforms for modern enterprise applications.

You should have a solid foundation in software engineering with exposure to networking, cloud platforms, and enterprise IT systems, ideally with experience or familiarity with ServiceNow workflows or integrations. You must be capable of understanding the partners’ and end customers’ problems and whiteboarding solutions using our product offerings and services. You should also have experience working on software projects and a good understanding of the software development lifecycle. Some amount of travel will be required.
Interface & Collaboration
Report directly to the Senior Director of Sales and Field Applications Engineers. You will be an integral part of sales team and the broader community of solution architects and specialized Account Managers/Directors and strive to become the trusted technical advisor to our partner and their customers by understanding their business needs and addressing those needs through Wind River’s products, services, and solutions. You will collaborate with the ServiceNow partner team, engineering, product management, professional services, and other members of the solutions engineering team to align joint efforts and support customer-facing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage all technical needs of the assigned partner utilizing all available resources.
- Support technical enablement and assist in becoming a trusted advisor to the ServiceNow partner teams.
- Listen to partner’s needs, then assist in the development and delivery of Proofs of Concept, demonstrations, and technical presentations.
- Understand the end customer use cases and help develop part of the POC or Demo.
- Support integration scenarios involving ServiceNow workflows, APIs, or cloud service hooks.
- Participation in open-source projects will be based on business needs.
- Provide consistent market feedback to Wind River.
- Remove technical barriers for Wind River solutions.
- Increase Wind River's market share globally.
How you will contribute
Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:
Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success
- Be hands-on in assisting with customer proof of concepts (PoCs) and testing solution integrations.
- Familiarity with open-source projects like Kubernetes is a must.
- Understanding of exposure to ServiceNow workflows, APIs, or automation is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of modern enterprise IT infrastructure, private/hybrid cloud platforms, OSS/BSS and application performance management tools is a strong plus.
- Experience explaining technical concepts to a large audience, comfort, and confidence in front of customers.
- Understanding of ITSM , ITOM , ITAM , GRC Process is a strong plus .
- Able to work independently in partner and end customer locations/labs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have 7-10 years of experience in software engineering, cloud platforms, or IT infrastructure:
- Working/functional knowledge of network stacks, switching, routing, etc.
- Understanding of enterprise IT architectures and modern infrastructure platforms (data center, edge, and cloud) and knowledge of telecom networks.
- Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation or similar products.
- Experience in system-level solution design, including enterprise workload orchestration.
- Familiarity with virtualization, containers, Kubernetes, orchestration, OpenStack, and cloud-native technologies is preferred.
- Understanding of ITSM platforms like ServiceNow, including experience with programming (C++/C) and scripting (Ansible, Python, Perl), integrations, or automation workflows, is a strong advantage.
- Exposure to software-defined infrastructure, virtualization, and distributed system management.
- Linux background covering deployment, image build, application, and kernel development.
- Must have English language skills enabling business discussion/dialogue.
- Travel at short notice availability required up to 25%.
