About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Tax Analyst within the Sales Tax Center of Excellence as part of the Wholesale Lending Operations division. Tax Analyst are responsible for all aspects of sales tax liability for the equipment leasing business. Tax Analyst also develops and implements effective tax strategies, provides tax consultation to internal stakeholders and manages state and local sales and leasing tax audits. In this role, you will:
  • Exercise proficiency in state and local sales, use and leasing tax laws, rulings, regulations and judicial decisions.
  • Perform sales, use and leasing tax research.
  • Maintain records related to sales tax returns and reports.
  • Work with moderate to minimal supervision.
  • Consult on sales, use and leasing tax related matters with the equipment leasing business and other control functions.
  • Develop relationships with equipment leasing business related to the collection and analysis of information important to sales tax accounting or compliance.
  • Work with business partners to collect internal financial or tax data, perform data analysis, test for accuracy, identify and resolve data problems.
  • Participate in projects.
  • Communicate and provide consultation regularly with stakeholders in the equipment leasing business.
Required Qualification:
  • 2+ years of Corporate Tax, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of multistate transaction tax consulting experience.
  • 2+ years of sales and use tax research and administration experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Familiarity with Vertex sales tax solutions.
  • Transaction tax experience in the leasing industry preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills to perform technical analysis of large volumes of data.
  • Alteryx experience is desired.
  • Equipment Finance or commercial leasing experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attentional to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to work at one of our approved job posting locations.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, at least 3 days a week working in office Wednesday mandatory.
