THE OPPORTUNITY

The contribution of our Finance teams is vital to the performance, profitability, and continued growth of the Primient business. Across Finance, we are exploring new and better ways to harness data, improve decision-making and add value – while optimizing the investment we are making in our plants and people.

The mission of the Tax department is to be viewed as a ‘trusted business advisor’ with the Company and Owners.  Paramount to achieving this mission is having the right resources in place that bring a customer service approach and business centric view to providing tax advice.  As a member of the Direct Tax group, the Tax Analyst position is responsible for working with our co-source firm in preparing direct tax returns (primarily Federal and State Forms 1065 and associated schedules) and providing on-going support for any related reporting issues throughout the year.  This position assists the Direct Tax Manager in completion of tax compliance, partner projections, tax planning, tax credits, tax accounting, special projects and audit/controversy projects. 

Key responsibilities: Analyst, Direct Tax

  • Assist in the preparation of the federal and state partnership tax returns, which are prepared by a co-source provider.
  • Assist with developing audit ready files to support current year returns; provide IRS audit assistance as needed.
  • Assist in the tax reporting process.
  • Prepare estimated income computations for partners.
  • Preparation of the US income tax provision (limited in scope due to flow-through nature of entity structure).
  • Responsible for driving value in tax planning projects and credits, including partner tax projections.
  • Ensure adherence to department policies regarding managing, updating, and ensuring the tax accounting procedures are compliance with required internal controls.
  • Prepare various special computations and support tax planning initiatives.

ABOUT YOU

Preferred Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in tax compliance and consulting with a focus on large operating partnerships/corporations.
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Areas of preferred tax experience include: partnerships, state and local income taxes, federal tax topics relevant to manufacturers including UNICAP, GILTI, Depreciation, R&D, Inventory.
  • Experience working with private equity owned businesses.
  • Experience with using Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • ERP experience (SAP preferred). 

Financial competencies

  • Understanding of US GAAP Accounting.
  • Risk & Control Orientation – Understands the importance of control excellence and continuous improvement as a fundamental underpin.
  • Commercially Led - Supports the business to deliver its commercial objectives through the effective provision of tax services.

Qualifications

  • BS Finance or accountancy, or similar qualification
  • CPA preferred

Skills and knowledge

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex concepts in a clear and structured manner
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, in an environment that is fast paced and demanding
  • A strong team player with the confidence and ability to work autonomously and make decisions.

Total RewardsThe annual pay range estimated for this position is $61,822.40 - $77,278.00 and is bonus eligible.

Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities. During the interview process there will be an opportunity to discuss how your background fits into the pay range.
