About this role:
Reporting to the head of State and Local Government Relations, this position will focus on advocacy and engagement in the Desert Mountain Region. Working with state and local policymakers in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming, this position will office at 64 East Broadway in Tempe, AZ and offers a hybrid work schedule. The Wells Fargo job profile is Senior Lead Government Relations Specialist.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with policymakers on key issues impacting the bank, customers, and communities
- Develop an understanding of the businesses, products, strategy, and management structure
- Interpret and analyze state and local public policy, regulatory or other political developments
- Advise leadership of public policy developments and implications that affect the company
- Lead state and local lobbying activities and advise PAC on campaign strategies
- Design public affairs strategies and campaigns for the Desert Mountain Region
- Engage with trade associations and other outside groups to achieve objectives

- 7+ years of Government Relations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience working with elected officials on public policy issues in the Desert Mountain Region
- Experience implementing strategies to achieve public policy goals
- Experience representing the financial services industry in a lobbying capacity
- Experience presenting information that persuades, and enhances understanding at all levels
- Experience identifying, tracking, and reporting public policy issues
- Experience counseling senior leaders regarding public policy positions
- Experience working with third-party trade associations
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
