About the role
The Senior Director, Operations Finance Business Lead provides broad strategic financial oversight and support to the Operations team in the identification, validation, execution and monitoring of important programs that are part of the Operations multi-year plan. The Senior Director synthesizes financial results, influences strategic decisions, and provides valuable insights to senior leadership about our financial trajectory and coordinates, monitors, analyzes, and forecasts the Operations Team's financial performance. You will work with senior leadership, including Finance and Operations senior leadership.

You will report to the VP, Financial Management.

Pay Transparency:
The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $192,000 - $252,000 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $172,800 - $226,800 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Grow Operations Team budget & re-forecasting processes to ensure understanding of operating plan, external guidance, and overall financial targets
- Provide valuable insights of performance on an ongoing basis to leadership.
- Management Reporting:
- Lead the production and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, highlighting important trends and variances for Operations and Finance leadership
- Financial Analysis:
- Build the Operations Team financial strategy including the identification, validation, and tracking of programs that improve overall financial performance
- Strategy Evaluation:
- Create multi-year strategy planning process in close partnership with Operations leadership including ownership of all investment/business cases, evaluation of strategic growth opportunities,
- Leadership:
- Manage a high performing finance team
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Create a collaborative environment with cross-functional stakeholders
Communicate financial results, trends, and recommendations to leadership and other stakeholders
Qualifications
- 12+ years of public or large company experience in FP&A or finance roles with healthcare, insurance, or financial services.
- 7+ years of demonstrated ability using expert financial modeling skills to translate data into relevant insights, strategies, and financial plans.
- 5+ years of experience leading budgeting and planning processes.
- 5+ years of ability to build high-functioning finance teams.
Bonus Points
- Masters Degree; Business Administration, Finance, or Financial Analysis.
- Experience in managed care or insurance
- Proficiency in SQL/BigQuery to analyze large datasets.
- Proficiency working with NetSuite and Adaptive.
- Analytical & problem solving mindset.
- Experience distilling financial analyses for leadership teams

Pay Transparency: Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
