About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Capital Markets Middle Office Specialist to support the Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) business within Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Operations division. Learn more about our career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com.
The candidate will be a member of the FCM Operations Trade Management team responsible for trade capture and related processes for exchange-traded derivatives (including futures, options, on futures, interest rate swaps, and credit default swaps).
In this role, you will:
- Process all daily derivative lifecycle events at the clearinghouses and within the firm's books and records system in an accurate and timely manner
- Perform daily processes including trade capture, allocations, exception resolution, and processing of non-trade activity (option expirations, transfers, deliveries, compressions, closeout instructions, etc.) as well as mitigating risk associated with such processes
- Foster relationships with FCM Client Service, Sales, Reconciliations, Fees and Brokerage teams as well as clients, middle office, traders and outside vendors to effectively accomplish the team's goals
- Recommend process improvements based on industry best practices, targeting risk mitigation and straight through processing and creating enhanced controls and efficiencies that will enhance the performance of the group
- Provide support in both firm-wide and operations/team-specific projects, inclusive of active participation in UAT testing
- 2+ years of Capital Markets industry experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience filtering and synthesizing detailed information, as well as understand system processes and workflows
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a deadline-driven environment to obtain results
- 1+ years of experience utilizing the FIS GMI and/or Clearvision processing systems
- 1+ years of experience working with cleared OTC products
- 1+ years of FCM operations and/or project implementation experience
- Advanced knowledge of cleared derivatives trade processing lifecycle
- Working knowledge of the CME Group, ICE, LCH, OCC or other comparable clearinghouse systems
- Sound analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt and learn new systems, processes, and regulations quickly, and on a regular basis
- Self-motivated and a strong desire for continued learning
- Advanced Excel and other MS Office products skills
- Ability to work across multiple work streams to analyze business processes to determine appropriate solutions
- Ability to interact professionally with customers, business partners, peers, and upper management
