Overview

Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Field Sales Specialist to help sell our Clinical Chemistries/Consumables business. The Clinical Chemistry Field Sales Representative will be responsible for attaining sales growth objectives within a designated geographic territory. The candidate will work collaboratively with their corresponding Instrument Sales Specialists and the Americas Manager to achieve territory specific sales goals as set forth by the Global Chemistry Manager and Amercias General Manager from Clinical Business Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Working in a matrix environment, the individual will drive sales growth independently and collaboratively by increasing market-share at existing accounts and by prospecting within their territory for new business opportunities.
  • Utilizing telephone and electronic sales communication methodologies (email, voicemail etc...) to communicate with and sell to laboratory end users and decision makers.
  • Visit Clinical accounts to evaluate potential methods to be transferred or developed using our chemistry consumables.
  • Utilizing Waters' internal CRM database as a tool for tracking sales activities, open opportunities and campaign follow-up initiatives.
  • Preparing and implementing comprehensive Business Development activities for their assigned sales territory.
  • Delivering succinct, pertinent territory reports and updates on business development initiatives.
  • Always when needed traveling to their specified sales territory to support trade shows, seminars and customer visits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related Life Science field of study. Chemistry or Biochemistry Degrees strongly preferred
  • 2+ years experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory (Sales experience is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of chemistries, reagents, consumables as they pertain to LC/MS instrumentation
  • Understanding of the scientific workflow of utilizing LC/MS techniques
  • Basic chromatography knowledge (Hands on experience preferred)
  • Effective "Diagnostic Selling" skills.
  • Understanding of CRM database utility in order to facilitate customer contact, ROI of sales campaigns and territory forecasting.
  • Candidate must be customer-focused and have exceptional written, verbal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PPT).
