Your New Role
Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for a communications and public relations professional to be part of the regional communications team to collaborate in the coordination of the department´s processes across Latin America. The Regional Comms Specialist will support the main projects of regional brand and publicity strategies for both linear and streaming, as needed, across Latin America, and work with the local and regional teams to successfully execute campaigns for General Entertainment, Kids and Family, Sports and other areas. Responsibilities for the position include building relationships with teams across several business units in the company, including Marketing, Content, Programming, Merchandising - from both regional and international teams - as well as the PR Agencies we work with, to foster collaboration and ensure effective and efficient strategies are in place for our region.
Through cross collaboration on strategy, storytelling and tactics, the regional comms specialist will support driving consumer engagement, product desirability, ratings, subscription sales, and brand awareness and positioning. The specialist will support and develop regional publicity strategies for designated campaigns, provide quality control for communications materials and support talent relations.
The regional comms specialist should support the communications (PR) efforts of regional team, in collaboration with other key business units regionally and across international markets to effectively market and position our content and brands in creative ways, which is key in driving engagement, subscription/revenue growth, and proper brand positioning. It is key that the person in this role stay up to date on trends, conversations and narratives that can be key to our storytelling (brand + content) and can aid in the effective creation of our campaigns.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Develop communications campaigns to support the strategy of WBD extensive family of content, across brands including but not limited to Max, HBO, Discovery, DC, and WB, as well as content across multiple formats and genres like series, movies, franchises, novelas, documentaries, realities, animation, live events, and others. This includes the coordination of campaigns, press junkets/opportunities, talent opportunities, screenings and other press tactics.
- Creation and quality control of press materials such as releases, editorial content or pitch notes for diverse coverage, following our core narrative and storytelling, but with the flexibility to adapt to each content style, guidelines and unique brand voice.
- Build, consolidate and review reports showcasing the performance of communications campaigns across the department´s key stakeholders, such as press, content creators and key opinion leaders, including ROI and key metrics to evaluate and determine success and benchmarks for future planning.
- Coordinate, search and curate the promotional visual assets across multiple platforms from the company to successfully support different communications campaigns, targeting different stakeholders.
- Support diverse tasks related to the department´s responsibilities including, but not limited to, consolidating databases, lists, forms, assets, titles, among others, socializing and collaborating with other departments in the process to gather and confirm the information needed.
Qualifications & Experiences
- Experience in the development, management and execution of PR plans and strategies in top consumer products or regional/global brands.
- Experience with talent management
- Excellent social and personal communications skills
- Excellent written and spoken communications + organizational and follow-up skills required.
- Good organizational and follow up skills required
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field
- Advanced English
- A genuine, enthusiastic and passionate love of entertainment with excitement for our content and products
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industry and brand, and able to be in an ever-growing and dynamic environment.
- Ability to be a top contributor to a tema culture that breaks the mold, fueled by innovation & creativity in a fast-paced environment, with positive and transparent collaboration.
- Stay up to date on current trends, conversations and narratives to appropriately strategize for campaigns in a way that makes sense for current industry landscape.
Desirable
- Experience in the TV and film business, or general entertainment (music, events)
- Portuguese as an additional language is a plus.
- Experience working with regional and/or international markets.
- Experience in producing and/or working events a plus.
