Senior Manager, Content Design

Your New Role...
As Senior Manager, Content Design you are a member of the world-class CNN Digital Product Design Team (and the broader technology team), which is responsible for creating industry leading user experiences engaged by millions across the globe. CNN, one of the most trusted news organizations in the world, is driven by a shared commitment to put our users at the center of the experiences we build and to push the boundaries on what an exceptional digital experience can be.

The Senior Manager, Content Design is an experienced leader who will work closely with design leadership and cross-functional partners (product design, research, engineering, product, legal, brand) to develop and lead end-to-end product content strategy, best practices, and execution from conception to launch - as both an individual contributor and a team manager. You will be a key member of the tech team and a strong advocate for content design standards and strategy.

Your Role Accountabilities...
• Define and lead the practice of content strategy and design in our organization
• Empower and mentor the content design team to develop their skills and impact
• Work closely with the design systems team to embed clear, concise, effective content in code components
• Create comprehensive design systems documentation and manage the documentation hub in zeroheight
• Guide product and design teams to create and execute content strategy which aligns with business goals and user needs
• Create, maintain, evolve and socialize voice and tone style guides, UX content guidelines, and other self-serve materials
• Develop content standards to help users navigate through happy paths, errors and/or points of friction in our digital experiences
• Use internal standards and industry best practices to craft microcopy for our apps, websites and other digital products
• Utilize user research, A/B tests, and other feedback mechanisms in service of building effective and accessible internal and external products

Qualifications & Experience...
• 8+ years' experience in user experience content-focused role with 4+ years in-product writing experience
• 4+ years management experience
• Experience building style guides and language systems across products and platform
• A portfolio demonstrating human-centered design thinking and solutions
• Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
• Exceptional command of grammar and punctuation
• Experience and point of view on content design within design systems
• Comfort with using and contributing content to design system tools (Figma, zeroheight) and project management tools (Jira, Confluence, monday.com)
• Have a thorough understanding of the UX/product design process (journey mapping, information architecture, user flows), key UX principles (usability, information hierarchy, mental models) and best practices (A/B testing, accessibility, content taxonomies, documentation)
• Adept at "getting things done" through individual and collaborative tactics in an environment of ambiguity and opportunity

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $156,800.00 - $291,200.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
