Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is recruiting a Manager/Senior Manager for a full-time position to support advisory matters on international indirect tax matters. The right candidate will have a combination of Big 4 and industry experience with multinational US HQ companies. Experience in the media and entertainment industry will be advantageous.

WBD's Tax team is located in the US, Canada, UK, Poland, Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, Hong Kong, Singapore and India. This role will be located in the UK, London and will report into the International Indirect tax lead who is located in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Your New Role...

This role is key to help shape and support international indirect tax advisory in a in a dynamic environment with a view to being a proactive advisor to the business. It will involve working very closely with the, wider tax team, indirect tax compliance and reporting team, legal, technology, production, and finance controllership teams.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Working together with the International Lead to develop a strategy for Indirect tax advisory and building a strong working network across the business.
  • Supporting the streaming business and developing a protocol to deal with this dynamic part of the business for new launches and maintenance of optimal compliance.
  • Supporting legal teams with drafting for new/renewed contracts and managing vendor and contract negotiations.
  • Working closely with the indirect tax compliance and reporting teams to ensure that advice is correctly reported and advising on any risks/opportunities that arise from compliance matters.
  • Advising on entity rationalizations, mergers and acquisitions and restructuring.
  • Leading on SAO reporting in the UK.
  • Forging closer working relations with HMRC.
  • Assisting with training provided to the business.
  • Dealing with queries from the business as and when they arise.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • A self-starter with a positive mindset who can clearly focus on goals but is motivated to work independently to achieve success.
  • Confidence to challenge on technical matters including risks and opportunities and bring solutions/new ways of working.
  • Strong project management and technical advisory skills to deal with multiple priority, fast-moving, ground-breaking, and complex projects.
  • Strong, concise, and confident communicator with the ability to dissolve complex and technical matters to simple messaging and tailoring such messages depending on the audience.
  • Experience in Big 4 and/or multinational US HQ in-house indirect tax advisory.
  • Commitment to teamwork through relationship-building, reliability, and collaboration.
  • Experience with managing relationships with tax authorities and tax advisors.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
  • English essential, other language skills extremely useful.
