Senior Director, Merchandise Design: Home, Hardlines and Entertainment

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Portfolio Required.

Oversees a team of internal designers and directs external resources of suppliers to deliver against priority initiatives that build and strengthen Walmart's brands through products design. Assures that Walmart's brand DNA/guidelines, trends, aesthetic, style, quality, and value support customer needs in product and assortments. Helps to ensure merchant leadership is aligned to assortment development and are adopted as key lever for sales, market share and profitable growth objectives.

Brand Execution in Product Design: Provides macro trend direction (color, print/pattern, material, etc.) for Brands in the portfolio. Designs and guides development in construction and fabrication in select areas of focus. Overseas the development of design-related product specifications within the designed portfolio for key areas of focus. Recommends and selects optimal specifications of platforming at the category and component levels and contributes to the securing of IP ownership for proprietary strategies.

Oversees the design vision, execution, and identity of each brand through product and design to ensure that merchant and product development strategies are followed. This allows collections and solutions to tie across all channels and across relevant departments. Translates the design vision utilizing appropriate materials, accommodates price/cost ranges and capability of the supply base to execute items and collections.

Merchandising Differentiation and Competitive Advantage: Understands the competitive landscape of the brand portfolio, determining competitive advantages and developing a winning strategy. Develops and adapts to the ever-changing Omni retail environment. Continually offers new experiences to customers in order to increase Walmart's market and customer wallet share, as well as customer retention.

Partnership with Leaders: Partners with other Senior Leaders in product development and merchandising to ensure Brand collections and strategy is in alignment with other business unit strategies (e.g., Operations; Replenishment, Marketing).

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$320,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Design, or related field and 6 years' experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related area OR 8 years' experience in design, merchandising, marketing, or related area.
6 years' experience with cross-functional project management.
