Responsibilities:

Business Strategy & Communication

  • Leads projects or initiatives focused on development of assortment by collaborating cross-organizationally to define use cases, business processes, and tooling to support availability, planning, and operational objectives. Works with partners to understand functional objectives and challenges to develop hypotheses for business problems.
  • Defines research objectives & tactical research plans and perform analytics to address business problems. Provide guidance to cross-functional partners or leadership and advise on next steps based on insights, objectives, and research. Presents actionable recommendations to inform strategic and tactical functional initiatives.
  • Prepares documentation (e.g., Power Point, Word) to communicate strategic recommendations based on research and data analysis. Supports the implementation of process, systems, and tool solutions by building relationships & partnerships with key business stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with transformation teams, merchandising business teams, and cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, product, user experience, merchant team, store operations) to develop consultative solutions as needed for individual workstreams or projects for business area.

Modeling & Analytics

  • Synthesize large and diverse data sets (advanced SQL) to generate insights and recommendations
  • Influences cross-functional partners, includes data science and engineering partners, to develop and improve our methodology for model designs and required feature inputs fed into models to be used as a suite of services across the enterprise.
  • Develops and maintains data models (algorithms, approaches) for workstreams and individual projects within a business area to drive results and value. Execute exploratory and scenario analysis to shape future products and provide actionable insights for the business .
  • Generates new ideas and shape the development and implementation of prototypes and production-ready complex algorithms for workstreams and individual projects with cross-functional team members. Manages the testing and validation process to monitor the solution.
  • Works with cross-functional team, includes engineering and/or data stewards, to build scalable data pipelines & data structure to efficiently maintain relevant, multi-year historical data and allow analysts to easily access the data for analysis and modeling.
  • Develops data visualization (e.g Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and reporting solutions for model input coverage & accuracy and forecast model coverage & accuracy metrics. These reports help track business performance and drive process improvement initiatives.

Program Management

  • Owns individual projects end-to-end, from strategy to implementation. Manages risk associated with implementation and facilitates continuous improvement cycle to deliver expected outcomes.
  • Ensures delivery of scalable process and tools to automate or transform work that would otherwise be disparate, manual, or time-consuming. Influences project roadmaps and lead thinking on change improvements to existing business. Serve as an internal and external change evangelist for the organization.
  • Drives implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; determines and carries out necessary processes and practices; monitors & communicates plans, progress, and results; recognizes and capitalizes on improvement opportunities; and adapts to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

  • Have academic and/or professional experience in fields of Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Have experience analyzing and solving forecasting & optimization problems, does not have to be retail-related
  • Have experience working on large, high visibility programs spanning multiple part of an organization
  • Have experience leading projects working with large data sets, finding insights, and telling stories using data
  • Have a structured and organized approach to drive programs & expected outcomes with minimal direction
  • Have excellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Have high curiosity and ownership to learn and deep dive in problems
  • Prior experience in retail and ecommerce is a plus

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$130,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
