The Director, Finance Communications is an action-oriented, results-driven communicator adept at crafting a financial strategy narrative that positions the company as an attractive public market investment. The ideal candidate approaches communications strategically and enjoys finding innovative ways to communicate that reinforce our business objectives and priorities. This role will partner with members of the IR team, senior business leaders, communications colleagues, and other stakeholders to lead strategic earnings and financial communications, develop narratives that reinforce Walmart's business strategy and potential, build and foster relationships with financial media, and oversee analytics, processes and reporting.

The Director for Financial Communications lead Walmart's financial communications, including developing and directing communications strategies that include internal, external, social media, issues management and more. The successful candidate will be a strategic and creative thinker who can envision the full picture, has an ability to manage multiple projects end to end, and is partnership minded.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive integrated communication strategies (including executive positioning, media relations, internal, stakeholder and social/digital) designed to reach key audiences, including financial press, and ultimately the investor and analyst community.
  • Serve as a thought partner and counselor to Investor Relations team and senior leaders across the organization on quarterly earnings, M&A and related opportunities.
  • Develop impactful messages and continuously innovate into new ways to express them.
  • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of plans and initiatives.
  • Serve as a company spokesperson, building and maintaining relationships with national, local, and online journalists in the financial industry.
  • Continuously monitor trends, competitor activity, and audience preferences to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.

  • Exercise exceptional judgement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications.
  • Proven track record of developing and leading impactful communications strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with experience working with top-tier media.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Gracefulness under pressure and deadlines; must be able to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Analytical and creative mindset.
  • Willing to travel, as need.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
