This Indirect Tax Analyst position provides a unique opportunity to grow your career by increasing your international Indirect Tax knowledge while working on our international entities. You will have opportunities to participate in projects engaging expert advisors to ensure compliance with new tax laws, new locations, and new routes to market.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Indirect Tax Compliance
Within 30 days, you will understand the process for the preparation and filing of the indirect tax returns which includes Value Added Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax, Digital Services Tax, etc.
Success in 90 days, would see you taking responsibility for group of entities for the above process and including reconciliations and payment requests.
In 180 days, you will be expected to investigate and respond to audit queries and participate on projects such as determining the tax treatment for new products or routes to market, new locations, new taxes and system enhancement projects.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
- Manage the process for Indirect tax filings for assigned international entities
- Facilitate the indirect tax reconciliations review ensuring all balances are current
- Establish solid working relationships to review and resolve indirect tax related queries
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation and assist with implementation
- Stay current on indirect tax law changes impacting VMware
- Perform system tests and review results for compliance
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Support the wider indirect tax team with ad hoc requests, as needed
