Job Description and Responsibilities

We are on the lookout for a seasoned Consultant / Cloud and infrastructure as Code Engineer to become a part of our dynamic Infrastructure reliability Engineering team. This role involves delivering inventive and state-of-the-art automation solutions across Visa's global network and services. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills and experience to design, construct, and manage intricate cloud solutions using cutting-edge technologies and tools. In this role, you will use your expertise in cloud platforms, DevOps, automation, scripting, and programming languages to create, deploy, and manage cloud resources in line with infrastructure as code principles. Additionally, you will offer technical guidance and leadership to other automation engineers and developers as well as contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our automation architecture and processes.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure with an understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models
• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Extensive experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes and tools surrounding the ecosystem like Sysdig, Prometheus, Grafana, Fluenbit etc.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Gitops.
• Clear understanding of network technologies (WAN, LAN, network security). In-depth understanding of TCP/IP protocols and data center network architecture and services.
• Extensive understanding of architecture design, software automation and testing.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python
• Solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
• Solid understanding of network architecture, security principles, and IT infrastructure.
• Responsible for adherence of established ITIL practice such as Incident, Change, Problem and Release Management
• Demonstrated technical leadership skills with experience in leading technical projects.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to constantly learn, adapt to new technologies and challenges, and drive innovation in cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Deep knowledge of virtualization (VMware, HyperV), Containerization, Cluster management solutions and cloud technology landscape
• Lead and manage the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure and solutions.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible to automate the day2 task and management of cloud resources.
• Design and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the deployment of infrastructure.
• Design, develop and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation etc.
• Develop and implement DevOps practices to improve the overall software development lifecycle.
• Develop automated build and deployment processes to enable continuous delivery of software releases.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure that infrastructure meets the requirements of the application.
• Establish and maintain best practices for cloud security, compliance and keeping infrastructure secure through continuous patching and upgrades
• Participate in code and design reviews to ensure the quality and maintainability of code.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest cloud trends and technologies and implement improvements and innovations where applicable.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the cloud infrastructure and IaC.
• Ensure the security and compliance of the cloud infrastructure by implementing best practices and standards.
• Participate in internal client meetings, understand their requirements, and propose suitable automation solutions.
• Document all processes and systems clearly and comprehensively.
• Implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automating workflows to boost operational efficiency.
