Role Overview: As the leader for Visa’s Commercial business in Canada, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of payments for a diverse portfolio spanning Small Business (SMB), and Large Middle Market (LMM). In this highly visible and client-facing leadership role, you will build, inspire, and empower a team driving the strategy and execution needed to achieve ambitious revenue and growth targets for the Canadian Commercial portfolio.

You will be successful in this role if:

  • You are a dynamic leader with a passion for commercial payments, recognized for your analytical mindset, collaborative spirit, and skilled communication.
  • You thrive on building inclusive relationships—both internally and externally—and are energized by the prospect of developing talent and fostering a culture where every team member can grow and succeed.
  • Your thought leadership, curiosity, and strategic vision will enable you to engage with executives across Visa and some of our largest clients, leveraging your organizational savvy and negotiation skills to deliver client-centric solutions.

At Visa, we value diverse perspectives and inclusive leadership. We are looking for someone who is not only results-driven but also deeply committed to making a positive impact—on our team, our clients, and the Canadian business landscape. If you are ready to lead with purpose, drive innovation, and be a catalyst for growth, we invite you to join us as we redefine the future of commercial payments together.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vision & Strategy:  Develop and execute a bold strategy for Visa’s Commercial business in Canada, tailored to the unique needs of SMB, and LMM. Set ambitious revenue, growth, and performance targets—and deliver on them. Serve as an ambassador for Visa, shaping the future of commercial payments and representing Visa at industry events and with key partners.
  • Sales Leadership: Full accountability for payment volume and revenue targets across the Canadian Commercial Solutions portfolio. Set, allocate, and achieve ambitious annual sales and performance goals by client and segment. Oversee and drive the development of a strong sales pipeline, with a focus on up-sell, cross-sell, new business, and renewal opportunities. Lead deal structuring, pricing, incentives, negotiation, and contracting, ensuring value for both Visa and our clients. Identify, close, and execute high-impact commercial initiatives to accelerate growth. Monitor and report on progress toward revenue and sales targets, proactively addressing gaps and seizing opportunities. Take ownership of the full sales cycle, from opportunity identification and solutioning through to program launch, ramp, and optimization.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and deepen relationships with some of Canada’s largest and most influential business clients. Lead complex negotiations and deliver tailored solutions that create long-term value. Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Product Commercialization:  Partner with Visa’s North America Commercial Product team to tailor and deliver product solutions to meet the specific needs of clients in the Canadian market.  Be the subject matter expert on local market trends and competitive landscape; leverage those insights to define specific market needs and deliver innovative solutions that position Visa to win in the market.
  • Strategic Planning & Growth: Responsible for developing, owning and leading the annual planning and multi-year strategic growth planning process.  Identify new business opportunities and drive innovative solutions that maximize market impact. Oversee the entire sales cycle: from pipeline development and deal structuring to contract negotiation and program optimization. Collaborate across Visa’s global network to bring the best of our capabilities to the Canadian market.
  • Operational Excellence: Monitor and report on portfolio performance, proactively addressing challenges and seizing opportunities. Partner cross-functionally with product, marketing, pricing, legal, compliance, and risk teams to deliver seamless client experiences. Ensure all activities are executed to the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Build, lead, and inspire a world-class team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance. Coach and mentor team members, supporting their professional growth and ensuring Visa's values are lived every day. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion.
