What a Solution Design & Architecture, Director does at Visa
As a Solution Design & Architecture Director for Vietnam and Laos, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge technology solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and Sales to ensure that Visa’s solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
This role demands a strategic thinker with a deep technical background, strong leadership skills and ability to engage C-Level of clients.
Reporting to the Head of Product & VAS, the individual will mainly interact with the digital teams, IT and business teams of our FI & Non-FI clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and communicate a comprehensive architectural vision that aligns with Visa’s business strategy and objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define technology roadmaps and investment priorities.
- Solution Design and Development:
- Oversee the design of scalable, secure, and high-performance technology solutions.
- Ensure that architectural designs meet business requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Drive innovation by staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including product managers, engineering teams, clients, and partners.
- Act as a key liaison between technology and business teams to ensure seamless integration of new solutions.
- Present architectural concepts and solutions to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance and Best Practices:
- Establish and enforce best practices for architecture, including design patterns and performance optimization.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Risk Management and Problem Solving:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the reliability and security of Visa’s solutions.
- Provide expert guidance in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a proven track record of designing and delivering complex technology solutions.
- Strong technical expertise in areas such as cloud computing, microservices, APIs, security, and data management.
- Excellent leadership skills, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to drive innovation and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
- Experience in the financial services or payments industry is a plus.
