The Finance Business Partner team is an agile, highly visible team that works using a consultative model with business to apply data to business and finance decisions as well as measure performance.

We are looking for a Finance leader, who is a problem solver with great communication skills. You will provide financial insights that enables the business partners to plan, prioritize investments, execute and manage performance.

You are both a player and coach, providing financial thought partnership and analytical support to partners. This is a high visibility role where you will keep senior management informed on performance and support decision making, business reviews, strategy/execution projects, and ad hoc analysis.

What a Director, Finance Business Partner – Merchant Sales & Acquiring (MS&A) does at Visa:

  • Primary Finance support for MS&A function
  • Establish and maintain excellent working partnerships with the MS&A function head and leadership teams.
  • Effectively partner with MS&A function to prepare Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecasts ensuring all relevant issues / projects / initiatives are correctly addressed and/or resolved
  • Acquire and maintain a deep understanding of the strategies, priorities and issues of the MS&A function regionally and globally
  • Perform financial analysis including variance analysis and what-if scenarios; be able to succinctly outline key variance drivers and key risks to projections while applying business and financial acumen to explain underlying drivers of results
  • Partner with business teams for client incentive deals and projects, providing financial and analytical support and applying business acumen.  
  • Individual contributor who could partner with business in providing guidance on budget and bringing financial discipline in investment decisions
  • Partner with Global Functional and AP Hub finance teams to prepare commentary regarding variances, business drivers and influence forecasting assumptions
  • Actively seeks opportunities to introduce new tools and improve analysis used for function communications
    • Support the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting requirements in accordance with deadlines
    • Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management, functional, or regional management while supporting syndication with stakeholders across the organization

 

Why this is important to Visa

The FBP will be part of one of the key functions in Visa and plays a critical role in supporting MS&A function from a finance support standpoint.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business.

 

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • ISCA / ACCA / CFA qualified or equivalent with 12+ years post qualification experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a finance division, within a large matrix organisation
  • A passion for payments industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to liaise at with global and local stakeholders at all levels
  • Substantial experience in a business partnering related role, incorporating planning and reporting duties
  • Strong written / verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated critical thinking
  • Excel / Word / PowerPoint (advanced)
  • Oracle/Hyperion suite of products preferred
  • IBM Cognos TM1 preferred
  • Power BI preferred
  • High energy, motivated team player, able to effectively work across functions and teams to drive projects and key initiatives to completion
  • Strong collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible working style, and able to work effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Proven presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities
  • Ability to manage a large number of concurrent initiatives
  • Demonstrated working experience in product project management
